This is utterly charming, and so much fun to read.

Eee, this is adorable! This is such a loving and cousin-y story. Your Pippin is the sweetest thing. I just loved this bit:

Pippin saw them first. He jumped up with a yelp and dashed over to hug Merry around the shins, already talking a mile a minute. “I can’t believe we get to be in one of the contests! I can’t wait to get started, I went through everything I already know about cooking last night: don’t stand too close to the fire, don’t eat things right off the skillet, never mix peanut butter into the eggs, don’t leave the apple juice too close to the fire because it will grow fur—”

Author Reply: You just gotta love Pippin, even when he's flinging chicken fat and dumping flour all over the place. And to think Eglantine doesn't want him in the kitchen just yet. *baffled* :P Thanks for reading! I'm glad you enjoyed the story!

What innocent fun! Yep, Pippin does keep things interesting. :) And don't they love him for it - and we too. Love them all. Congrats to all the winners!

Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

Author Reply: My nephew is just like Pip. Always 'helping', lol! Pippin does keep things interesting and Merry isn't really complaining, though he might have if he'd been made to go through the whole day looking like a little old gaffer. :P

Thanks for reading!

This was lots of fun. I enjoyed it very much. Your Tulip is so much nicer than mine was. I love what you did with all of it. Thank you for the laughs!

Author Reply: Your Tulip was almost wicked, not in the Lobelia capacity, but pretty darn close. Pippin needed a caring, sympathetic judge though. :D Thanks for letting me use her, with a few minor personality changes. *hugs*

To see Merry so sedate through all this was wonderful; and our Pippin is, after all, our Pippin--through and through! Heh! Wonderful!

Author Reply: Merry really pulled through. It would have been easy for him to get competitive and impatient, but he held it in check for his Pip. And Pippin, bless him, so eager to learn and help in any way he can.

Thanks for reading! I'm so glad you enjoyed it. :D

Love it! Omigosh, it's a good thing I just had supper, or I'd be prowling around the kitchen eating everything in sight. What a delightful story. The cousin-y love just overflows. :)

Author Reply: *grins* I love how kids misunderstand things, don't you? I should probably consider a "Do not read on an empty stomach" warning in the future. :) Thanks for reading, Shirebound!
