| lovely, and sad, and hopeful at the same time (and gives a whole new way to look at "The Grey Havens". Sometimes it slips the mind that for Gandalf, it's a "homecoming" and not a "leaving". Author Reply: Thanks for your kind words... Yes, it does give you another way to look at his departure from the Grey Havens, doesn't it? I mean I know he had to have missed his home in the West during some of his time in Middle-earth and although I think it saddened him to leave behind some of the dearest friends he had ever known, I know part of Gandalf was homesick and ready to return to the Western Lands... | Sure. Osse and Uinen, the Maiar servants of Ulmo, were married. They are mentioned in the Silmarillion. I don't know of any other married Maiar, but there's an awful lot of HoME I haven't read.... Author Reply: Ah ha - I knew I read that somewhere! In any case I have played around with this idea in my head for weeks on in and I finally got up the nerve to post something with Limidhren in it...
