lovely, and sad, and hopeful at the same time (and gives a whole new way to look at "The Grey Havens". Sometimes it slips the mind that for Gandalf, it's a "homecoming" and not a "leaving". Author Reply: Thanks for your kind words... Yes, it does give you another way to look at his departure from the Grey Havens, doesn't it? I mean I know he had to have missed his home in the West during some of his time in Middle-earth and although I think it saddened him to leave behind some of the dearest friends he had ever known, I know part of Gandalf was homesick and ready to return to the Western Lands... Sure. Osse and Uinen, the Maiar servants of Ulmo, were married. They are mentioned in the Silmarillion. I don't know of any other married Maiar, but there's an awful lot of HoME I haven't read.... Author Reply: Ah ha - I knew I read that somewhere! In any case I have played around with this idea in my head for weeks on in and I finally got up the nerve to post something with Limidhren in it...
