My Dear Bandobras  by Le Rouret 5 Review(s)

Aleluia, someone with vision! I really hope Bandobras can get Legolas back to his senses! If he does get married, he should marry someone that likes him for all that he is and not just for his drop-dead elven looks.
*waiting for next chapter anxiously*

There ya go, Bandy, you tell him! THAT ought to help Legolas wake up from the spell everyone seems to be trying to cast on him. There really IS no hurry unless they all don't want him finding out what a little witch she may be before it's too late. What a cruel thing to do to someone as nice as Legolas if that's the case. How irritating that they are pushing him so!

I really do hope Pearl lets Bandy go on ahead now and be with Legolas. The poor Elf NEEDS that young Hobbit around to verbally smack some common sense into certain people! Humph!

LOVED this part, greedily wanting more as soon as your household allows. *vbg*

YES!!! Yes, you tell him, Bandobras! Yes! Oh, I'm so happy, I can hardly think straight. It's high time someone set Legolas straight, and Bandy did it exactly right. See, this is why I like your writing so much.

I just love the whole style of Bandy's letters - even when he isn't saying everything I've been wanting to say to Legolas for so long, just the enthusiasm and directness of his language is so refreshing. Especially after all the high court brouhaha and whatnot - Lady this to Lady that with all respect and on and on... if I lived in the Middle Ages I think I'd rather not be nobility. Better to be a serf and slave until your teeth rot out than have to couch everything you said in all the style and high political double-speak of the upper classes. Especially when it leads to things like political marriages being forced on people, when, as Bandobras points out, they have eternity! There's NO NEED TO RUSH, PEOPLE!

I do hope that Legolas listens to him. I'd also love to see a letter from Gimli - he's set the idiot Elf straight, indeed. And where is Aragorn in all of this? Surely he'd take an interest - Legolas is one of his closest friends, wholly apart from being an ally and neighboring lord.

Oh, and I laughed out loud at the line about Legolas' mother being as old as dirt. Ha! Oh, that is fantastic.

Heh. Our little hobbit's a wise one, I see. He's absolutely on the mark about everything.

Oh my....this was absolutely hilarious! I cracked up when Bandobras talked about Legolas' mother being 'old as dirt and still the prettiest'. His desperation is becoming almost palpable in its intensity.

I loved Sam's advice about waiting to see how they would get along before tying the knot...very sage advice from our favorite gardener!

Loved this chapter...keep up the good work!
