My Dear Bandobras  by Le Rouret 5 Review(s)

"Some conversation he found hidden in a scroll someplace"! Someone in Legolas's household is devilishly subtle, no? Brilliant!

Bandy is sharp-sighted as ever, and his analysis of Laustaire is to the point. It is typically for Legolas to blame himself for Laustaires faults, but it does not help the case if he does; the wedding needs to be postponed. Or he will have to wait about 50 to 100 years for his wife to grow up enough to be useful, if she will ever do so, which is very uncertain.

And what if he is stumbling across her racism? her arogance? how will he excuse the witless infant *then*? I wish he *would* take the time to spent some undisturbed hours with her to learn to know her better, without Nardane and any distraction; maybe then he would learn a bit of Laustaires true thougts on work and other races and would wake from his vacation to cloud seven and come back to eart. Valar, I truly wished that Gimli would show up, and that Laustaire would blow her cower by telling Legolas her mind about "that dwarf"; it would probably do well to break up this disaster. As it is now, everybody seems just too busy to pull a stop to things before it is too late.

Well, so it was Legolas himself who found the notwe, not Laustaire. Well done! At least it is a start. But I am afraid Legolas will end up very unhappy here, if this goes on and no one of his friends come to the rescue.

So a tongue-lashing from Gimli is on the way? I look forward to it.

First off, Bandy cracked me UP saying what he did about that Gammer Proudfoot and how she ought to let some other old woman "have a go" as he put it. *still chuckling*

Ah, I knew that note would turn up, but let's hope it wasn't a bad time for it, seeing as how it's still before the wedding, but after the invitations have been sent out hurts a bit. *still grumbling over that* Oh I DO hope this didn't cause harsh words between Legolas and Seimiel! It didn't, did it? Please say no... *whimper* There was a plain as day reference to how she feels about him in there, did he catch that or is he still blind to that sort of thing? *disgusted snort*

Anyway, I hope Gimli can get to Ithilien soon or Bandy take off and go himself, mother or not. Better yet, let Gimli do what he said he would earlier and kidnap the little Hobbit himself because Legolas NEEDS them both, especially Bandy!

Ah good, Bandobras is on the case. So Legolas actually found that bit of conversation, did he? I had wondered why it was written down - I bet someone planted it for him to find. That might have been a clever way to alert him to the problem without putting him on the spot so he had to defend the little tramp's honor or something.

I surely hope that Gimli takes up the cause - interesting as this clan war sounds, there are more urgent matters afoot. He still hasn't met the twit himself yet, has he? One look at him and she'll probably fly screaming for the hills, and surely Legolas won't stand for that.

I am glad that it seems Legolas isn't totally clueless here, he does have some awareness of what's going on, now if only he can act on that and save himself and his people (and your readers) all this suffering it would be a blessing.

Oh, and I laughed aloud at Bandobras' line about Gammer Proudfoot, "I think if she's going to be so wasteful with the menfolk she ought rather to let some other old lady have a go." Ha! Excellent.
