My Dear Bandobras  by Le Rouret 6 Review(s)
BodkinReviewed Chapter: 40 on 9/12/2004
Legolas does sound depressed. I think he needs Bandobras rather badly at this point. And since he realises it was a desire for fatherhood that made him want to marry, the presence of the children who adore him might not be the consolation it usually is.

What was to stop Kalamiril taking those letters from Nardane that showed how badly things were going and showing them to Cirdan, who might then have been able to step in before it was too late?

And it does all come back to Laustaire being an undisciplined adolescent who was clearly far too young and immature to be married.

Oh, poor Legolas. . .

Oh, no, poor Elf. Hopefully Bandobras will cheer him up when he gets to Ithilien. I notice he makes no mention of Nardane and her love for him.

Poor Legolas. This is really sad. I'm glad he didn't have to endure Cirdan's wrath as well. Unfortunately, I can see him as feeling responsible for what happened since they were, as he said, in their care. He should not feel that way but I think he surely would. With this turn of events (the lady's death), I fear to see the outcome of your warning that this is not a happy tale. It could not get too much sadder for poor Legolas.

Sounds like clinical depression to me, although with VERY good reason. Good thing Gimli is taking things into his own hands and fetching Bandobras--I can't imagine being depressed for long with HIM around! And perhaps he'll somewhat fill the need for a child, at least for a bit.

I hope Legolas isn't fading. I'd like to see him married, too. Perhaps now that that need has been awoken in him he'll and he's no longer being forced, that will happen for him (sequel, perhaps)?

Okay, hubby is fussing because we're running late, but I HAD to see if you'd posted and lo and behold you did as I signed in to my email account! *vbg*

What a SAD letter for me to read before I leave though! *whimpering for poor Legolas* I really hope he'll be happily surprised by the way all of his friends rally round him now. Especially when Gimli brings little Bandy to him! *vbg* He'll have to cheer up then, won't he? *fervently hoping so*

I'm very, VERY glad Cirdan said what he did to Legolas too. *sigh of relief* And the fact that his mother is going to stop trying to foist off maidens on him as well. About time!

GREAT story, no matter the angst or because of it perhaps. *chuckle* What a wonderful storyteller you are! :):):)

Well I have to run now, we ARE getting off to a later start than planned. See you all in a week! :)
