Dear Diary  by Lily Dragonquill 7 Review(s)

Ah, my heart is complete...

As I have said before, each entry in this series is lovely. You have such a gift for real insight into family life we all can relate to, and yet your Primula and Drogo retain their hobbit-charm. And in each entry, each chapter, Frodo shines with specialness. I loved that baby Frodo said "no" before "yes" - how very true of all babies! And the image of Bilbo holding that beautiful, adorable child and babbling to him while Frodo gazes up into his lined face ... you touch an emotional chord that every living soul can share. 'Lovely' doesn't really begin to cover these diary entries...

Author Reply: Thank you so much, dear. This means a lot to me, especially since this chapter was only written because you sent that bunny my way. I just felt that there needed to be something that showed the special bond between Frodo and Bilbo - and the two of them babbling together seemed just about right :)

I'm glad you're enjoying Primula's diary.

Delightful, my deart! My oldest child-only son's little boy has just turned a year old, and your Frodo behaves just like little Ben does. Running about, babbling in his own little language. One minute playful and friendly, next minute tired and grumpy! So sweet to see the beginning of a deep life long friendship between the two. And as has been said before, I like they way you write Drogo and Primula as a couple. Lovers first, parent only then. I am enjoying this very much.

Author Reply: Thank you so much. I really enjoy writing Drogo and Primula. They must have been parents who left their mark on their child, even if they had one another only for a short while.

LOL! Oh, I can hardly type! To think of Bilbo engaging in "parent-baby conversation" with little Frodo is just too cute for words! LOL! So, the first word is "no," eh? Ah yes, all too familiar. I remember waking up one morning to find that my little brother had learned it, and for the next several days everything was "no no no!" :) Then came "sissy!" which to me grew more exasperating because he suddenly wanted to follow me everywhere and ask a million half-articulate questions. But that's why we adore little children, right? :) Can't wait for the next one!
God bless,
Galadriel

Author Reply: Bilbo and Frodo prattling away surely is not something one sees every day :)
Aww.. you're little brother must have been a little rascal :) But, you're right. That's why we love them.

The next one will be the last one, I'm afraid.

"I don't spoil him," I tell my husband impishly and lean back for a playful kiss.

"No!" Frodo exclaims demanding attention. He crawled up to his uncle, his little hand tapping Bilbo's knee.

"See," I tell them, as I look fondly at my son, a smug smile on my lips. "Frodo is of the same opinion."

LOL! The constant and only use of the word "no" certainly offers a wide range for interpretations ;-) And Primula's interpretation is definitely to her advantage, whereas I think little Frodo demands to hear the dragon story!

That was a very nice chapter!

Author Reply: Frodo definitely only wants to be occupied. How dare the adulds find anything more interesting then him :)

Toys had to be introduced to our guest and conversations needed to be held

"No!" Frodo exclaims demanding attention. He crawled up to his uncle, his little hand tapping Bilbo's knee.

Bilbo wraps his arms around my boy, and pulls him into a hug. Then he covers his face, hands and belly with kisses, earning delighted squeals and giggles. There's no doubt they have stolen each other's hearts. Bilbo might want to visit more often now.

Awwww! This is wonderful. I'm so happy these two share a birthday.

Author Reply: I'm glad you enjoy it.
