| What?........ when did this happen in the book? Frodo never sent Sam away... Author Reply: It's a movie-based fanfiction. It's a moment in ROTK. I know they just added it for dramatization, but it inspired this fic. I was rather disappointed when I read the chapter in the book and found out Sam was never sent away -- disappointed with PJ, not Tolkien. Sorry, I should have put a note. | In just a few short paragraphs, you caught Sam's emotions quite well (the sorrow, the anger, the determination). Yes, indeed, that Stinker! That part where Frodo dismisses Sam because he listened to Gollum's poison was one of the most painful of many! Good job! linda Author Reply: Thank you. Yes, it was one of the most painful for Sam after all the time and effort he had put into the Quest and protecting and caring for his Mr. Frodo. It doesn't happen in the book (at all, I hope) at that point. Guess the dramatization of that particular point worked. It certainly inspired this fic.
