A sad tale. Very well written and thoughtful, though. I was especially moved by Pearl's attempt to handle the situtation, and her wish not to be sent away. Author Reply: Thanks for the note:) Yes, Pearl has every once of sympathy I can muster, dealing with that at her age, and I'm glad her determination and her vulnerability both came through. Thank you for taking the time to read and review. SilverMoonLady

I have just finished reading this excellent fic and felt compelled to leave a review for you. It is rare indeed I read something like this and am touched so that I cry, but you've managed it this morning, curse you! You conveyed both women so truthfully -- the one who spirals down into darkness and hell without hope, and the one who desperately tries to bolster her during the descent, and "fix" everything. You've either experienced this before, or have done adequate research in psychology journals -- you got it spot on. It was also well-written, drawing me into the tale and opening up the characters' inner thoughts so well I felt an especial communion with Esmerelda -- with her anger, frustration, pity, horror and courage. My only suggestion is that you write another fic that explains how she got her nickname! Wonderfully done -- I commend you. Author Reply: Thank you very much. I am happy/sad it was that affecting, it is a situation seldom told, in fiction or reality... I'm going to have to 'ask' Esmeralda about that little story too.. :) Thank you for reading:)

you did a great job on this story.... It shows the after effects sometimes mothers can have with post pardom depression.... The emotion of all the characters was real and you could feel for them.... Great job.... Author Reply: Thank you for taking the time to leave a note! I'm glad I could open up that little glimpse in a way that worked. *blush & bow*
