| Well, I think I found the story you pointed me to! And a very nice one, I must say! If little Pippin had known, that he really would be in an adventure with Frodo, Merry and Sam ... "I’ll even let you spread your bedroll next to mine if you want." LOL! What a generous gesture towards Bilbo, and so very Pippin! In the end, it was Frodo who wrote down their adventure while Merry wrote his herb lore. If I remember right, Pippin did only collect books and ended up with a well-stocked library, but never wrote a book himself. No wonder I'd say, for Tooks are meant to go on adventures ;-) Author Reply: You did find it! Thanks for reading this oldie, Andrea! :) I'm so glad you liked it. I feel kind of self-conscious about my earliest stories so it's especially great that you enjoyed it! :) You're absolutely right about the hobbits. To me Frodo and Merry are quite scholarly, but Pippin is not. However I envision Pippin appreciating books more as he grew older - perhaps he saw the libraries at Rivendell and Minas Tirith and they inspired him - but I think what made him learn to love books is that Frodo left one behind, and that is all they had of him. I think Pippin would have loved books after that! :) | |

| Too cute! I could just see it in my head. The idea of Frodo teaching his two younger cousins to write was great! I liked it a lot. I don't see why you haven't gotten any reviews. Oh well, some people are in too much haste, (I'm feeling like an Ent instead of a hobbit all of a sudden :)) too much haste to be considerate and leave one. Author Reply: Hello, first reviewer! Knowing how much Frodo likes to read and write, I figured he would want to pass that along to his cousins. I'm glad you liked it :) Since this was a story I wrote for a Marigold's Challenge, I suppose lots of people already read it at her site, and maybe even left a review there.
