How lovely! And what an interesting idea, that both Olorin and Curunir left behind loved ones. You continually come up with things that I never considered. Marvelous, Amy!

Thank you, Janet!

I hope to one day post a longer piece featuring Limidhren [and Olórin] Saelinucalad sometime in the future as I have an idea for a story involving them more fully...

I may have to revise this chapter as I think I left out a detail or two that I meant to include...

Thanks again!

P.S. - Loved the last chapter of "Estel's Birthday", BTW and I look forward to the next chapter!

Excellent Chapter! This story brought up a subject that is not written about alot(atleast I've never come across a story simillar this before), What Gandalf's life was like before he left for middle earth? Now that is a blank slate that you can do anything with, and you've created a nice history for Gandalf.
Thanks for continuing this story!!

Thank you so very much!

It was interesting and very difficult to finish writing this chapter but I really wanted it posted for Frodo and Bilbo's birthday yesterday! And yes, I have yet to encounter any fics (outside my own) that deal with Gandalf's life before he came to Middle-earth -- it's been interesting to write of his life before and to work on creating Limidhren!

Anyway, thank you again - there will perhaps be one more chapter to this story as I have some ideas forming in my head but I anticipate Chapter 4 to be the FINAL chapter...

Stay tuned!

Thanks - and you never know what will come to me while I am in bed so all I can say is stay tuned but I offer no definite promises!

Thanks again!

Oh Amy, I'm so glad you're continuing with this. You've captured a very unique perspective on the trip West.

Thank you so much, Janet!

I do not think there will be another chapter unless my imagination conjures up yet another scene and conversation between the characters, though I admit Frodo's conversation with Galadriel went to a place that I had not anticipated!

Thanks again, and BTW I cannot wait for the next chapter of Estel's Birthday - such a delightful story!

I liked this moment with Elrond and Bilbo looking at the last remnant of Numenor. The very last moment of the star of Earendil gracing the peak was lovely. Thank you for this moody, wistful piece.

Awww, shucks, thank you for reading and commenting!

Author Reply: P.S. - I am really enjoying your story "The Minstrel's Quest" a great deal!

How sad for Elrond and his father. I've often thought of how difficult it must have been for him to foster all the heirs of Arnor in his home. I think the idea of how he would have felt seeing this sight on his way to Valinor is a completely unique idea and quite provoking. Great story.

Author Reply: Elrond is my favorite Elf because he's such an angsty Elf - and I imagine it was difficult for him to foster his brother's descendants - I mean I can imagine him looking into each of their faces and seeing a distant echo of his brother's - and then to have one of his brother's descendants to claim the heart of his only daughter...Wow but Elrond has had some major grief and heartache in his long life!

Yeah after reading about the Pillar of Heaven, I just knew that I need to write this fic as it occured to me that Elrond would have watched for it on his way to the West as it is all that remains of the realm his brother founded...

Great story.

Thank you!

This is a moment I never thought about before. How chilling for Elrond, and how sad.

Author Reply: Thanks for reading, and yes I think it would be a chilling moment for Elrond...

Oh Amy, what a fascinating idea! (I wish I'd thought of including something like this in "Sing Me Home".) What an incredible moment for Elrond, and that last line is most remarkable.

(You might want to correct 'clothe' to 'cloth' and 'darken' to 'darkened')

Author Reply: Thanks, shirebound, for reading this!

So this idea also occured to you?

I have been fascinated with Numenor as of last and Elrond is my favorite Elf so I figured why not combine the two when I read of Meneltarma, knowing it must have survived the Fall of Numenor -- or at least its summit did!

I thought of having Elrond tell Bilbo more about the Pillar they were looking at but it just seem the right place and line to end at -- and I am so glad you liked it!

Thanks again!

Oh and I made the corrections you suggested -- thanks for pointing them out to me!
