Somehow, I've missed this story up to now. I love Radagast and it made me teary thinking of him, bringing the blood of the orc/elf back to Valinor. That was very touching. I just can't get enough of your stories. Author Reply: Hi, Elliska, and thanks for reading. I'm glad you liked it. Radagast is very dear to my heart as well. :) Werecat

This was touching, I think. I suppose that the victors always get to write history, so that the battles the other side won are called 'massacres' for instance. There's something very poignant in the idea of an Orc with sea longing. And I loved the idea that Radagast ministers to all creatures, even Orcs, and the Orc sort of recognized him as someone like that. Author Reply: Hi, Daw, and thanks for reading. I'm glad you liked my portrayal of Radagast. That's my new character fixation, because I think I'm done with Beruthiel. Of course, my muse (mews) might have other plans... Thanks again, Werecat

This is a plausible explanation of how the extinction of the Orcs could be viewed as completion of the circle or a healing. I would take exception to one point: "..for nothing in the old tales spoke of such raw rage and unquenched bloodlust." I think the old tales spoke of this a lot. But that is my perception as a modern reader and the old tales of the character's era might have been milder. Also, the statement as written heightens the character's terror and that is good story telling. Overall, a nice piece of gap-filling! Author Reply: Hi, Chathol-linn, and thanks for reading. I would take exception to one point: "..for nothing in the old tales spoke of such raw rage and unquenched bloodlust." I think the old tales spoke of this a lot. In this I played with the idea that after the RW many things were dying out, especially since the orcs were almost extinct by that time, perhaps nothing more than a scary story to make children eat their food. I might add a couple of lines to make this clear. Thanks again for reading. Werecat

This was brilliant! I truly enjoyed this story. I always wondered if the Orcs remembered being Elves and how they would fare after death. I really like reading something so little touched upon and I think you did a very good job. I did wonder though if Radagast would be going to Aman because I thought I'd read somewhere in the Unfinished Tales that only one of the Istari would go, of course that being Gandalf. Nevertheless this is a well thought out and beautifully written story, the first to go into my favorites! Author Reply: Thanks, Darlin, for reading. There's little known of the fate of Radagast after the Ring War, but since he was Maiar I assumed that in time perhaps he would return. I will go now check my UT copy for this...
