Of Cake and Crumbs and Distant Dreams  by Lindelea 23 Review(s)
LarnerReviewed Chapter: Prologue on 7/22/2008
I don't think I'd ever seen this one, Lindelea, or if I did it was so long ago I don't remember.

So reassuring! Oh, yes!

Author Reply: Missed this, did I? Sorry for the belated reply.

Thanks!

Awww... nice! Although all of them have done such un-hobbity things, they still are hobbits at heart, and you convey this so well!

Nienor

Author Reply: Ah, thank you. Yes, I think they are still hobbits at heart, even though they've been refined by their experiences (changed, perhaps, but essentially the same. hope I'm making sense. there's a hullaballoo in the next room, discussing knights and chivalry with great excitement and enthusiasm)

Awww...so sweet! Yes, I think Pippin needed that. Love it! You have the most enticing style, Lindelea. I was just thinking of you and "A Small and Passing Thing" last night, and I can't wait to read that one again! Long stories are my favourite, you know! :)
God bless,
Galadriel

Author Reply: Thank you!

I can see, looking at reviews, that I've been seriously remiss in replying. Drat.

But thanks so much for the encouraging words.

I remember reading and liking this back in the days when I was too shy to review. I wonder how long Frodo had been looking for his Pippin or whether he knew exactly where to look because he had hidden there himself.

Author Reply: I think that Frodo probably knew his younger cousins quite well, well enough to intuit where one of them might go to hide if feeling poorly. But perhaps he'd stumbled across the same spot, overlooking the green plain and sparkling river, and knew it to be a good dreaming place for a homesick hobbit.

Thanks! (Belatedly.)

This is an awesome, kind and restful story. Soothing for Pip and soothing for your readers. Thank you so very much :) :) VWD!!!!!

Author Reply: Oh, thank you, Pearl. Sometimes angst is energizing, but sometimes soothing is definitely needed.

Sorry for the much-belated reply.

I just had to tell you again how much I love this. Really, even more this time than the first. It's beautiful.

Author Reply: Am belatedly answering reviews for this story that were posted all about the same time as this one. Looking at the dates, it was an impossibly busy time in RL, but that doesn't mean your taking the time to leave feedback was unappreciated!

Thanks so much.

That was so sweet! Although Pippin is a brave knight of Gondor, he's also a child who's lost his innocence way before his time. Stupid Sauron, he has to go and ruin the lives of poor little hobbits. I'm glad Frodo was there to help Pippin feel better, although he must be feeling pretty tormented and homesick himself. This just shows Frodo in a more impressive light, the fact that he's willing to comfort others even though he himself is in need of comfort. ^^ Yeah, my attempt at sounding all smart and insightful flopped, lol. Anyway, your stories are so brilliant--I can't wait to read more! :)

Author Reply: *g* Why it didn't flop at all, but sounded quite insightful indeed. It is nice to revisit a story through a thoughtful comment. Thanks!

Ah, good fluff. I keep finding small treasures as I go back through the archives.
