| I can't believe I missed this. Anyway, a lovely illumination of a moment JRRT wasn't able to fit into ROTK. I would argue that Beregond was slightly braver than Pippin in the Hallows, since Beregond was still a soldier who had to betray his oath to save Faramir; while Pippin had been released from his service to Denethor; but the difference is small. Faramir was fortunate indeed to have two such courageous friends. Author Reply: Thank you, Raksha :) Yes, Beregond knew more what exactly he was laying on the line.
