hello again white wolf! I just guess I'm terribly obessed with your stories that I keep bothering you. Well, I've read this story a long time ago but never got the chance to leave you a review for it. I love how you portrait Thranduil here. A tender worrying father. I love to read stories about Legolas's childhood and tender moments with his family! They are my special favorie ones. I really *put a great deal of emphasis on the word* did like it when Legolas woke and relieved his father's worry by saying they still had to see their rainbow! My, this is a long review. Sorry to take much of your time White Wolf! Until later then! Author Reply: Hello to you, Nayru. Trust me, reviews are no bother. I'd be lost and very sad without them. So bring them on. Better late than never. I love Thranduil and always believed him to be a good. loving father. I don't think Legolas would be the strong, caring elf we all love, if he had been raised by a cruel or abusive father. I hate those kinds of stories. Little Legolas stories are favorites of mine, too. I have several others, if you are interested. "Butterfly Wings" is a particular favorite, as is "An Enchanted Adventure", which has a teenaged Legolas. I might also mention "A Father's Concern". If you decide to read them, let me know what you think. I'm glad you like the part where Legolas wakes up and mentions the rainbow. That certainly eased Thranduil's heartache. Never apologize for the length of a review. I always want to hear your thoughts, however long that takes.

Very touching. A story that got to me in a good way. A nice change from the other types of stories you see now-a-days. I think that the way that Thranduil is veiwed, as a father, not as a king, is a very nice touch. Author Reply: Thank you. I did a double take when I saw your name, considering the title of the story. I wonder if that is what attracted you to it. I have always thought of Thranduil as a very loving father. I don't think Legolas would be the caring, courageous elf he is, if Thranduil had been the cruel, abusive father he is often portrayed.

I always love stories that involve Legolas and Thranduil. Especially when they show a glimpse of the father within the king. I loved the rainbow and how Legolas brought it up after his adar remembered. It was an amazing story!! Author Reply: I agree wholeheartedly, and I love the way you express it: the father within the king. I wanted to show a deeper connection between father and son by having them both think of the rainbow without the other mentioning it first. Thank you very much for your complement.

Legolas and his link with the forces of nature - interesting how he knew that the rainbow would come. And then, later, when he was injured - they were both involved in the symbolism of the rainbow. Good story. Author Reply: I wanted to demonstrate Legolas's love for nature that went beyond the usual association he has with the trees. I also wanted to show a connection between the rainbow sequence, not only from an early time in his childhood to a time after he grew up but also between him and his father. Thank you.

Very sweet. I love seeing the relationship of Thranduil and Legolas extending over the years. Author Reply: Thank you. I love that relationship, too. I enjoyed being able to bring together two different times in their lives in this one little story.

What a very sweet story! The image of Thranduil and Legolas, hand in hand watching the rainbow is lovely. And the picture of the older Legolas, so ill, with Thranduil watching over him still holding his hand, is even better. I like the way they both remembered the rainbow - it sounds beautiful. Jay Author Reply: Thank you. I just love those two together, no matter what the time in Legolas's life it is. I'm glad you took from the story exactly the image I was trying to portray.
