So now that I've started telling you how much I like your stories... it is only fair that I did it wholly...I did love "Elrond's boys" (but I was too shy to review then) and it struck me how different "your" twins are, a thing that makes sense to me. I suppose they may have grown up to be both stout and proficient warriors and pretty obsessed with orcs, but still they would retain very different tempers and natures, and I'm glad you chose to explore that.

I think that being forced into something you truly don't like is painful enough to make Elrohir an interesting character at this stage, and Elladan.. oh gods! he's the typical overbearing and conceited sports hero... It's going to be an interesting characters' developement and interaction!!!.

I suppose that both siblings must have undergone serious conflict in some time around this age, with conflicting egos and the typical lack of empathy...before they finally learnt to fully rely on each other and accept and value their different strengths... Elladan is an ego asking to be chopped, while Elrohir seems to have trouble seeing himself as worthy...
That can be such a tricky period in life!!! poor elflings (and parents alike!)
Go on! please! ;-)

Me again,
you've done a great job of writing the twins, my favourite character is Elladan, and I love seeing him so well written, I was still laughing from the update for 'A Visit to Imladris' but this chapter was so full of angst I wanted to cry again (but not with laughter). It was nice to see Celebrian being the one to talk to Elladan normally Elrond or Glorfindel end up with that sort of job and it has so much more effect coming from his mother. I'm interested to see how you sort things out with Elladan and if Elrond finds out. Also how Elrohir will react to his brother if he carries on the way he is.
Anyways please write more soon

You are doing a very good job of writing teenage twins! Celebrian's reprimand of Elladan was excellent! Poor Elrohir on not making what he had hoped to. Well done on showing his frustration and shame.

I am enjoying this story very much. Please continue to pursue it.

You are doing an excellent job of showing Elladan's impatience and restlessness. I like Glorfindel's holding him back and being willing to stand up to Elrond in this matter. I also like Elrihir's elvish whimsicality and acceptance that things happen in time. Elleadan sounds far more "mortal" than Elrohir. I supect Elladan is about to get into a lot of trouble.

Well written.. I look forward to the next chapter!

Ouch. Perhaps that's what Elladan needed to hear, but it must have hurt, coming from his mother! He is so angry at the moment, but that is definitely not going to get him what he wants.

And Elrohir is having problems, too, but just reacting differently. More one who pretends he doesn't care, so you have to be very close to hear the pain.

Poor elflings. I hope Arwen's arrival isn't imminent - at this moment they both need time to grow up. I don't think they would cope very well with being superseded by an innocent and wholly adorable infant.

Hm, I see that the divergent paths the twins started down in Elrond's Boys have separated even farther. You're one of the few writers to postulate so many differences between the two. I'm looking forward to see if their differences continue or if the two paths start heading back towards each other.

Elladan's impatience worries me. I fear he is heading for a major fall. I get the feeling that Glorfindel agrees with me. :(

I thought it was interesting that Glorfindel would disagree so passionately with Elrond over the twins' immediate future. Another thing that caught my eye was while the end result for the twins was the same -- Glorfindel would not accept either into his company -- Glorfindel's reasons for rejecting them were dramatically different.

Obviously I found this a very intriguing beginning, Dragon. Looking forward to more!

Thanks for the review! I always did see the twins as being very different - perhaps as I am a twin and my brother and I are very different. Eventually their paths will lie alongside each other again, but I doubt that it will be in this story - at least for a while.

Elladan is heading for a ... learning curve, certainly! *g*

Elladan has all the moody stressed-out arrogance of a late adolescent. How did the world manage to get along before he arrived to save it? Poor boy - it's a horrible age to be, even though it'll be another couple of centuries before he realises just how much he made everyone grit their teeth and force smiles on their faces.

Elrohir seems to have decided that he will not compete with his brother - which is probably wise. They will be adults for a long long time, after all. Carpe diem, Elrohir. Enjoy the music and company of your friends while you can.

Author Reply: *grins* That review made me laugh! Fortunately he's here now, so his parents won't just have to muddle on through without him!

Hooray! Another twins story from Dragon! My favorite kind of stories and authors have seemed to be on hiatus recently. So it to wonderful to see that you've started another epic -- I can hope and look forward to updates.

An interesting beginning. I suspect they'll both be learning some hard lessons soon. Looking forward to it!

Author Reply: Hello!

Sorry for the long reply and update time. I'm away at college for half the year at present and doing cool things much of the rest of the time! But I will finish everything eventually!
