I just love the conversation back and forth throughout the labor and birth especially when Eowyn says "Cease with the My Ladies and call me Eowyn. You have lifted my skirts enough times." Very funny. You have really captured these two characters. Even my daughter, who is a self-proclaimed Eowyn expert agrees. I'm the self-proclaimed Legolas expert. Another terrific chapter.

Very well done! I truly believed I was there for the birth, that was so well written and SO realistic. Ouch! LOL And the witty banter between the two is just darling, you've gone and made me green with envy again. *vbg*

Legolas' mention that it was neither his nor his mother's wish that he attend that first birth makes me think of what Tolkien says in LACE, that the Elves believed that being a warrior lessened one's abilities as a healer. Well, even if that is the case, clearly it hasn't hurt Legolas all that much.

Speaking as one who has yet to experience childbirth (thank the Valar) I must say that this story is something of an education! And it's also a lot of fun to read. My sympathies to poor Eowyn, but I'm rather sorry that the birth is over. It means that the story will be ending soon as well, and I'm enjoying it.
