I love this story when you first wrote and posted it as complete but it does fit in this longer story so very well. You have a lovely style and I like Pippin's insistance on taking the doll.

**************Elen**********************,

This story started, let's say warm, now after the chapter I just read it's getting very cold. I agree with Pippin. While you read this story you should drink something HOT.

Where did you get the idea for such a story???????????????????

I want to read more!!!!Please.

Hope you enjoy my coments,

Author Reply: So, I'll make sure to fix you up some hot chocolate next time, okay?

You can absolutely read more! There's a lot more coming and I'm nowhere near finished yet. I have no idea where the story came from, especially this chaopter; I just sat down and it wrote itself (as some stories must).

I love your comments! I like getting reviews. Happy reading!

Goodness! This is turning into a good old fashioned mystery!

*intrigued*

Author Reply: I like mysteries, especially in the winter, and so I thought I'd try my hand at one. I'm glad you're intrigued!

I remember that story - it was really horrible. Very medieval and reminiscent of walled-up skeletons and so on. Is that responsible for all the hauntings and spookiness of the abandoned wing? I wouldn't be surprised. I hope you are going to tell us more about the poor unfortunate Alatariel. And her nasty nasty father Belecthor II.

Very typical of Eowyn to swan off and investigate on her own. Ditto Pippin. I'm glad they found each other. Frodo seems pretty suspicious of little cousin though, so maybe the cavalry will be seeking them out. Or maybe not.

Hope the next chapter comes soon. Very exciting.

Author Reply: I hope that you meant he events in the story were horrible, and not the story itself, lol. I've always been fascinated by creepy medieval stories and walled up skeletons. I figured that the stewards of Gondor could be just as bad as the medieval kings, for all they didn't take over the throne. Yes, Alatarial is a part of the hauntings in the abandoned wing. We are going to learn more about her, and Belecthor.
Frodo would be an interesting ally, wouldn't he? And Eowyn and Pippin are such fun together.
I'm glad you like it, and thank you for reviewing!

I loved this as a standalone, and it also works well as a chapter. I found it heartrending when I first read it and still find it so. And infuriating-that is just the sickest, sickest way to treat one's child! Belecthor either couldn't have been in his right mind or was a very cruel person, because as her father he could have compelled her into marriage.

I love your characterizations too.

Author Reply: Thank you! It's very sad what Belecthor did-he could have just forced her into the marriage, or sent her away, but he walled her up. It makes you wonder what he told the people of the city, when she suddenly died. I'll be going into all that, so stay tuned!
I'm glad that you like my characterizations, too, as they're something I try hard to get right. Thanks again!
