Masquerade  by Elendiari22 5 Review(s)

I re-read this when the next chapter arrived. I found many lovely little bits to enjoy yet again. Aragorn slipping brandy into Faramir's tea, as he has had a hard day and could use a little pick-up. Faramir's wise declaration that "I love you just the way you are". And, his going to fetch her sword for her. I liked his being there in the room to steady her. I have always thought that they were two opposites who complimented and completed each other. Yes, I have read some good fan-fics trying to pair both of them off to other people, but I never could quite "see" that. I think you write both of them very well.
"in the middle of the night, when most sane people were in bed". People who go seeking adventure need a bit of a crazy streak, I think. I like your Bergil. His mostly grown-up Hobbit mentor has been teaching him well. On the other hand, this is the lad who chose to stay behind and make himself useful in a city about to be under seige, instead of going away with the "children" to safety. I think the adventurous streak was always there. I am glad that you are continueing this.

Seems I fell rather behind. But I'm caught up now! Poor Faramir, he must be taking it hard, seeing his mother alive and speaking in the mirror. I still think your characterizations of Merry and Pippin are dead-on-- they would be the ones still able to joke around in spite of everything. And I'm looking forward to seeing what happens next, now that Eowyn's broken the mirror.

So the mirror has been broken, as directed.I was also amused by Bergil insisting to come. i am sure he has heard Pippin's story already. And, "employment opportunities"? He should like working for the King! As everyone else, i will say, Please, do continue!

Very wise of Faramir to love Eowyn for the whole of who she is! Her feistiness is a definite advantage ... most of the time.

But what a place to leave the story! What happens now? Come on - more! Soon!

Oh, this was great! I loved everyone's determination to be "in on" this task! I was especially tickled by Bergil and the way he stood up to the King. I can imagine him afterwards, telling himself "I can't believe I said that to the King". I wonder, did Pippin tell him of what he'd said to Elrond, or did Bergil come up with that little phrase all on his own.

And it was a good thing Eowyn insisted on her sword!

Now, More! More! *pretty pleeaase*makes pitiful puppy dog face*
