| Ah Jenolas! Once again I visit a story long after you have written it. How very much I enjoyed it, too. Stories are like good friends, yes? They are good when new, they are good in the middle of the relationship, and they are good when old. The Internet is a great thing, that I can catch up when I have the time like this. | *g* Very amusing! I loved the sheer delight Gimli takes in his friend’s discomfiture. I must admit, I’d probably be one of those irritating maidens gawking unashamedly on the streets… I had to laugh when even Mariel, in the height of her distress, had a moment to spare for a loving glance at the elf who, it would seem, is not just handsome but helpful too! I really liked the image of Legolas with Eldarion in his arms, and especially the way it seems to be a natural instinct in Elves to know how to care for children. It was a rather sad moment, though, when Legolas suddenly realises that if such a joy were ever to be in his future, perhaps he should contemplate the idea of getting to know some of his admirers. But I guess babies tend to have that effect on most people. Thranduil’s letter was rather blunt! I suppose there was no point in being subtle about it… I really enjoyed the flashback to the last banquet. Estel’s infatuation with Arwen is certainly obvious for all to see! And Thranduil spilt his wine on Elrond! *snigger* I can’t help but think that Elrond *must* have done something to deserve it…! Elladan and Elrohir are just hilarious. I’m guessing the folk of Imladris must dread when that ‘look’ passes between them. What a brilliant plan, though! No wonder Thranduil didn’t have any more banquets for such a long time. Until after Elrond sailed, it would seem! “Alas, I still have no lady to escort, but perhaps I will dance with one or two of your admirers?” Nice one, Legolas! There aren’t too many people who’d dare to be such a smartass with Thranduil. Great story, jenolas. I think I read the original version over on ff.net before but really enjoyed it again. It brightened up that sunday-night depression! :-) | |

| what fun this was. i had to laugh. Legolas's answer to Thranduil was perfect. I loved how much Gimli enjoyed seeing his friend suffer the attention. And Legolas with Eldarion was a sweet scene. I have to say, though, I didn't quite get that the banquet scene was the memory of a previous one until the end. I know you prefaced it by saying the letter brought up the memory, but somehow I still missed that it was a flashback. Perhaps a few words can make it a tiny bit clearer. great job! monica | |
