Branwyn's Baubles  by Branwyn 4 Review(s)

And then, which gift did he come to use most? Ah, the one for which others came to curse him.

It is painful to find oneself a second-rate individual by the standards one measures manhood.

Excellent view of the young Grima, cursed with poor marksmanship in a warrior-culture. We feel the immense frustration he had on trying so hard, to no avail, as others improved but he did not, despite practice. I like the repetition of "close, but not in the center".

Nice characterization, & this seems spot on. No wonder he turned to the path he lead.

Thought provoking, but an excellent portrait of Grima green with envy. Unfortunately, very topical, too - how many young men seek to build their self-esteem through malicious craft, or violence? :(
