Pippin takes another deep breath and the joy bubbling deep in his chest suddenly escapes in the sound of clear, delighted laughter.

*Applause*

That was beautifully written. Thank you very much :)

Author Reply: Thanks so much, Andrea! I'm very glad you enjoyed it, especially that line. I thought it was Pippinish :)

It's over - what could be more convincing than cool sunlight and green grass? Pippin might still be a long way from recovering fully - but he has all his greatest hopes confirmed!

Author Reply: I wrote this because I wanted to see Pippin's wish coming true! :)
Thanks for reading, Bodkin!

I love your description in this, dear~ what a great peaceful moment for Pippin. :) Also love the fact that you got inspired from what he said at the Black Gate. Love it when there's a gap-filler to a great line like that. :)

Author Reply: Thank you, dear. I'm so glad you enjoyed! "The Black Gate Opens" chapter is the most heartbreaking one for me and I would not be able to read it if I didn't know that Pippin is all right in the end. I wanted to show Pippin's wish coming true with this ficlet. :D

Oh I like this a lot ST. I love the way it is written in the present. And I know he adores being outside but I think Merry should tell him that running might be just a LEEEETLE premature! *g*

Author Reply: Thanks, harrowcat! I'm so glad you enjoyed. And don't worry about Pippin, he's in very good hands with Merry and Aragorn. Although when you think about it, Gimli says after the feast honoring Frodo and Sam that Pippin has been out of bed "only a day yet." Depending on what his tasks were at the feast (he did some serving, but was he on his feet all night?) it's pretty remarkable that someone who had been in bed for so long and suffering from being crushed by a troll could be up to that much activity so soon! :)

A dearly held desire granted by a loving universe, and Pippin begins to know he can indeed live.

Author Reply: It's something I wish we would have seen in the book...but then perhaps I wouldn't have had the opportunity to write this! :)
Thanks, Larner!

*applause*

Wonderfull! Refreshing!!

"Oh, yes," Pippin says. He takes one step, and then another, and grins broadly. "Why Merry, I think I could run."

Thank you, ST :-)

Author Reply: Thank you so much, Pearl! I'm so glad you enjoyed this. I really enjoyed writing a happy moment for Pippin after he has gone through so much :)
