| Verrry interesting. Do I detect a note of irritation here? There has been so much gossip about Aragorn, about Legolas (not to mention legomances!!) that I can't help but wonder that the germ of this story might not have been in refuting them. But, from wherever it came I enjoyed it. I especially appreciated your different characterizations, even your brief mention of Gimli brought him vividly into the story. For a few moments, here and there, I had a doubt as to what we were talking about ... and that strung me along very effectively. | |

| Every time I come to SoA, I find more and more gems.... and I love this one! It shines with an innocence and radiance all its own. I love the banter and the good-naturedness of it all. I also like that you put their ages back into the 'book perspective'. It took me a minute, but then I got it. Lovely piece, my dear. | Oh, how wonderful! This little fic warms my heart for several reasons. The first and formost is that it is true to Tolkien. Secondly, I'm glad that somebody 'got it'. I get so annoyed at people who write for instance about 'elves', but in reality they write about 20th-century human beings in an 'elf' disguise. Look, if you live for milleniae, you will have a different sex-drive. And if you *are* mortal, but live in a society that values clannish behaviour, a quit ordered life and strict adherence to social rules (like hobbits) it follows that you have certain taboos about extramarital sex. And you GOT IT!! Wheee!! And thirdly, this is just a well-written piece. Both thumbs up from me. Author Reply: Wow! What a nice review! Thank you :) I read somewhere once (from one of Tolkien's letters) that the elves really did view sex in a very different way from the other races, especially humans, and frankly, it kind of annoyed me too that so many people write Legolas or the other elves as being in "lust" with more than one person. Sometimes, in a really well-written fic, I let it go because the fic is interesting, but usually, it bugs me because it's just so not canon :) And thank you for the compliment on my writing :) Thanks for reviewing! | |
