Two Drabbles Concerning Eowyn  by annmarwalk 2 Review(s)

Her sad mood seems appropriate. Leaving her home would be a greater sacrifice for her than for a woman today; she might not return to Rohan for months or even years. But perhaps it will be easier for her than for some women, since both she and Faramir are leaving their homes to begin anew. I like how, refusing to brood, she takes a cheerfully pragmatic view of her situation--very Rohirric!

Author Reply: Despite the thousands of words he wrote, I'm often frustrated by what Professor Tolkien left out. Of course, LOTR isn't meant to be a sociological or psychological treatise on career options for young princesses - that's our job, to get inside the characters' heads and try to figure out what might have been going on there.

An excellent drabble-look at the challenges faced by Eowyn as a young bride leaving her home.

Author Reply: Thanks, Raksha! I appreciate your continued support and encouragement.
And I'm still swooning over "The Bower" - lovely!
