Yay,update! Good for Gimli bagging the boar. Sam is so cute immediately figuring out the tastiest way to cook it. Now the secret of the Ring is out, everybody knows about it and Frodo is going to have to be extra careful. Has Merry gone after the Palantir? And will Aragorn get a chance to use the athelas to help Frodo? More soon please!

Oh, good . . . another chapter . . . I was beginning to worry about you and your RL, hoping that all is well and you are happy!

I am really enjoying this story. The main thing that I love about the original quest is the characters and their relationships, so I am good to go with the lost island concept! I was reading your remarks to your readers and I just have to respond to this one:

"I’m not really worrying about a “backstory” (why they were on the plane, where they were going, etc.), but concentrating more on these nine Middle-earth characters meeting, bonding, and facing danger together in an unexpected setting. Thank you for coming along for “the ride”! "

That's exactly how I feel too. You are always so gracious and giving in your comments. It makes your stories that much more fun to read--I always feel like I'm part of a wonderful group of friends when I read a shirebound story.

Thanks for developing poor Gimli. He was given short shrift in the movies. Aragorn makes a wonderful Ranger wherever he goes . . . he seems kinda like a Texas ranger now, but that's good; a little extra testosterone is always welcome . . . And I love your Frodo. . . .I always love your Frodo . . . I love his interest in maps, and his courage that is not intimidated by Boromir. I loved Quarantined and BCOP so much, mainly because of Frodo . . . and I love h/c too, as long as there is plenty of plot, action and heroism along with it. I love the fever, Sam's protectiveness, and the bond that is beginning to grow with Aragorn . . . I can't wait to see where you're going with this!

Thanks for continuing to write! You sure do brighten up my day.

As a huge fan of both "Lost" and LOTR, I have to admit I've been enjoying this thoroughly. It looks like you've cast Gimli in the role of Locke (the hunter/advisor). Frodo almost seems to bear resemblance to Sayid, but I may be off on that one.

This is proving to be a rather intriguing twist - I'm impressed with how you've managed to successfully combine both series so far. It's not completely one series or the other, but a synthesis of both that makes for a very interesting read. Glad to be along for the ride on this one. Keep up the excellent work!

You've got me intrigued now...if Frodo put on the Ring, how on earth did Merry disappear? Did the 'unseen creature' get him? *wink*
