Oh how beautiful! I can easily think this is a goodly part of Rose's motives for having so many children--like you, I don't think a farm lass would lack the knowledge of how to keep from getting pregnant.

Yes, this is right, so right, for Rosie and Sam. And she realizes the sea longing which, when finally exercised, will restore him to the other, spiritual love while she is the physical, familial one.
