It's horrible to think of Enadar being incarcerated in the pits below Dol Guldur while his mother was imprisoned there.

The strength of even the tiniest sensation - the taste of water, the flavour of fruit - and the way they stimulate snatches of memory is beautifully done.

His reactions seem to be a little more co-ordinated, but it will take centuries for him to make any real recovery. But they are elves: they have patience.

They're getting better, little baby step by little baby step. It is good to see that Thranduil and Enadar have developed some sort of a relationship. It seems to do them both good and speed their healing.

There's slow but sure progress being made here, I think. I'm coming around to Thranduil's way of thinking about Galadriel: Enadar might indeed be harmed by having his mind invaded. He seems so fragile and he's been nearly destroyed.
