I know I read this one a long time ago because I could recall Frodo looking for the baby in the wash-water but I really enjoyed it again. I was in need of something sweet and funny and this was it for me. Thank you!

Oh, I love this! It's so sweet! I never tire of wee Pippin and young Merry, and Frodo being the wise elder cousin that he is. :) Poor, sweet little Pip, all innocence! LOL! Merry really is...quite...um, inventive, isn't he? :) A loaf of bread, indeed! I think he learned his lesson, though I would have given him a little more punishment than he got. Thanks for a great story! God bless, Galadriel

This was really cute, but I have to say, Mery was let off pretty easily. I hope he was able to understand how important the consequences of his actions could have been. Author Reply: Hi, Bobo Baggins! Thank you for your comment, and for your thoughtful remark. I think you are right; Frodo (or Bilbo) should have explained to Merry that things could have turned out very differently. If either of them could look into that sad little face and not crumble at the first tear. That is why we love our Hobbits, because they love each other so.

Oh, that Took! This was so funny and tender and so much fun to read. I love stories about the childhoods of the hobbits, never get tired of them, and your are among the very best. I can't really pick out things to praise, although I laughed out loud when Pip bit Frodo's finger. I could just see him, and hear Frodo's yelp of pain. thanks for this. Julia Author Reply: That is so kind of you, Julia! I love the sweet, innocent days of the hobbits too, before the Ring damaged their lives. It is so much fun to express the love between these three cousins, and how little Merry and Pippin drive Frodo batty, but he loves them to death anyway. Wouldn't we all love to be included in that circle of love and family?

That was a sweet and funny story. I could see Frodo and Merry charging through the laundry and the kitchen looking for Pippin; and the poor bear!!! Thanks so much for the mid-day laugh (as good as tea or elevenses). Author Reply: Hullo, Cher! I'm so glad you enjoyed this little story. Pre-Quest stories of the cousins, before all the toil and danger darkened their lives, is one of my favorite time periods. We see them at their sweetest here, innocent, secure in their lives and futures. And who could possibly resist a baby Hobbit?

This story is an absolute delight. It's easy to picture the entire sequence of events, especially the tussle near the end. And underneath all of the comedy is the love, friendship and loyalty seen later in the hobbits' lives. Thank-you. Author Reply: Hello, Haleth! I am catching up my reviews (at last) and wanted to thank you for your comments. I loved your remark about the 'love, friendship and loyalty seen later in the hobbits' lives' - that was so perceptive of you. And so well put. Thank you!
