Hey there.
I apologize that this took so long. You have such a way with words, I adore reading your work. The idea of the pool is a great one, a place for just Aragorn and Legolas.
You know I also like the way you write elf's, it really give me a new appriciation for them.

Hi Tiari - take your time reading; the story isn't going anywhere, and I'd rather you enjoy it than rush through it - though, when you reach the later chaps, you might find it hard to stop, lol.

Thank you for your review, and I look forward to hearing from you again.

I was very surprised when I read this chapter to find that eleven years had passed since Elrond's Council, and that the nightmares Legolas had about his "failure" had endured during the Quest, but stopped...only to resume again ten years later. That smacks of foresight...not good news for our elf!

But then you take us to that lovely pool and treat us to Legolas taking a swim and singing and enjoying the beauty of the place *sigh*! Then he thinks back to a similar time in a pool at home with a young Aragorn. I loved that whole scene between these two friends...from the elf galloping off with the "doormat" clad only in leggings and giving his people quite a shock to see him acting so...to the wild jump off the cliff with Aragorn in hand...to the "duck and wash" game with Aragorn - he'll be cleaned up whether he likes it or not...to that final little conversation that was composed of lots of mmmmmmm's from our Ranger intermixed with lots of questions from our elf! Lovely! But then there's that last line about Aragorn acting distantly and I was jerked out of paradise back into worrying about Legolas again! Very nicely done, Legolass!
:-) Wonderful chapter...lovely images! *sighsighsigh* :-)

Mmmmmmmmmmmm :-) I love those images too. Don't they make you wish you were there as well? I would LOVE to play duck and wash with both of them!

I'm coming back to review -- since I forgot as I was reading originally. Sorry about that.

I really like the flashback of Legolas and Aragorn. And how Aragorn needs another such break now he is king. And a real feeling of loneliness seems to come from Legolas ... which explains why he feels the way he does later.

Yes, that was meant to set the scene and prep the reader for what was to come. Glad you felt the loneliness and the suppressed emotions from the elf.
