For the Love of the Lord of the White Tree  by Legolass 8 Review(s)

The fight was gripping. Legolas in his weakened state still so powerful is shining even more, and the music you wove into the fight - beatiful! No wonder all the men were mesmerized.
This had me on needles, and then at the climax Aragorn came ans the eagles. Such an awesome sight!
I'm so glad that all went well. And I loved in the end this declaration of friendship between Aragorn and Närum. The new beginning in forgiveness. Närum will be a good leader I'm sure.
Looking forward to the further drama, and mostly to the great moments of friendship.

Author Reply: I can imagine how beautifully fluid and lethal Legolas is in battle, even when his movements are impeded by poison - grace cannot be hidden. So pleased that it came across. Thank you for the kind compliment.

Peace is so hard to achieve. Any chance to establish it is precious, even in a story, so I took it. :-)

And yes there will be more drama - but not a physical battle - to come. You already know that; you just need to recollect. :-) Thanks again for the review.

I liked the theme of music used as a metaphor for the stages of the fight between Legolas and his captor.

There is more? Hmmm, the captivity is ended, and the baddie is dead. What more?

I wonder if the carving of this symbol into Legolas' chest is something of more significance than simply marking the target to strike. Some kind of spell or curse? Or perhaps the poison will linger and make trouble for the recovering elf.

I guess I'll have to read on to find out!

Ooooooooooh EAGLES! Gwahir! Precious precious eagle and right on time too.

I thought of that but by the time the other chaps came along I'd completely forgotten so intent I was to see the twins hahaha so it was a wonderful surprise in the end :):):)

Am definitely seeing this to the end :)

Yeah!!! for the Eagles...boy...I didn't see that one coming. Loved the fact that Legolas was able to fire off that arrow and deflect the sword...great stuff.
I thought at first that because no one actualy saw Sarambaqs' body, that maybe he somehow survived. But, I guess not. Good riddance to him.
I will certainly be here for the next chapter. Bring it on.

Bev

DOES it mean that Sarambaq is dead...? :-)

In any case... he won't be in the rest of this story. Thanks for your review. See you soon.

Brilliant climax! The battle scene had me on the edge of my seat. I wasn't sure what you were planning but you did a wonderful job concluding this part of the story. Looking forward to reading more:)

Thank you - I was exhausted by the time I'd written both chapters, so I'm glad it pleased my readers - it was worth the effort. :-)

Oh, phooey. Did it again.

*i knew it was the eagles, tee-hee!* Well, this was an exciting chapter, again with Legolas gamely fighting and holding his own if only barely. I really liked the awesome marksmanship of the elves. Sarambaq's and Darkil's ending was a picture of futility, a sad, pathetic end. I liked the way Aragorn stood back to give Legolas and Thranduil amoment after the crisis was over. That seemed very in character. Speaking of crisis passed, I'm wondering what surprises you have coming up. ~TF

Yes your guess was correct but of course I could not tell you at the time. :-)

You wonder what surprises I have in store?
I wonder about that too! lol
