Hi Haleth -

I've just discovered your story and am already intrigued. Great characterization, BTW. I can't help but wonder if Inglor not only is a very well-drawn elf but also has a trace of the Vulcan (from Star Trek) in him. You've hooked me. I'm curious to see what Inglor and Haleth are up to. And I'm positive Mr. Elf has a thing for the poor, fly beleagured lady.

Author Reply: Hello, Stefania and thank-you for the review.

I never thought of Inglor as behaving like a Vulcan before, but now that you mention it, his calm, stone-faced stoicism is Vulcan like. It wasn't deliberate, but I can certainly see a resemblance. Good point.

Wow. That may have been one of the funniest things I've read in a while fanfic wise that wasn't about Merry and Pippin. I can't wait to read the next twenty-some chapters!

Author Reply: Thank-you, yelena

I hope you enjoy the story. I should have posted of warning of extreme length on it.

Oh I have just stumbled across this WONDERFUL fic! Haleth is fabulous and grumpy and so human, and Inglor is just so gloriously elvish. But I htink he has a thing about her too... so, why are they there? I loved the walrus chapter- very witty and got me straight away. Looking forward to reading the rest of this.

Author Reply: Thank-you, Ziggy.

I'm very glad that you're enjoying the fic.

The poor walrus never did get his clam.

I'm so glad I decided to read this story! I liked Odob in the prologue - I've never read a chapter about a walrus before. And I loved the lemmings. I'm curious as to when this is set, but I suppose that will reveal itself in time. Now I'll go read the rest of the posted chapters!

Author Reply: Thank-you for the review, sqrt(-1). I'm glad you're enjoying the story.

The beginning of the story is set on the Ice Bay of Forochel on the extreme northern end of the map in the Lord of the Rings.

I've read this story on your website, and am ecstatic you are sharing it here.

From the chapter:
**Two figures sat on a desolate, rocky beach. Cold, grey waves lapped upon the stony shore.

The first was tall and fair. His golden hair shone in the sun, his bearing was straight and proud, his clothing immaculate.

The second was completely obscured by a cloud of biting insects.**

Hello, Haleth! What an introduction! :)

These two make a wonderful pair.

Author Reply: Hello, Lackwit. It's good to see you again.

These characters were a lot of fun to write. I'm cleaing up the story as it's posted here.

Very interesting, Haleth. Does Haleth share in your name only, or in being as well? ::giggle::

I'm trying to figure out where this is going and what these two mean to the reader and to the story... but I do like it. I just don't like to think overly much when I read, I guess. ::wink::

Author Reply: It's a good question as many writers strongly identify with their characters. In this case, though, the answer is no. The name sharing is due to sheer laziness. I have a terrible time coming up with names and was too shiftless to think of another one.

I admit it! I've already read this on another site, but I'm happily reading again. I'm so glad to see you post this on SoA. I loved your characters, your plot, your dialogue and your wonderful writing style. This reads so easily and it's terribly funny. A delightful and thoroughly original tale. I'm looking forward to trailing along on the travels of Haleth and Inglor again.
