There is the dwarf...is he gonna tell them to get a room already ? * grin*

Author Reply: Nah. The palantir is way more exciting than anything a couple of big folk might get up to.

This is one of my most favorite stories!

Just a couple of suggestions:

She could chose the manner in which she would obey, though.

Should be: She could choose the manner in which she would obey, though.
I choose, I chose, I have chosen, but I could choose, would choose, should choose.

bells peal; the pealing of the bells was a pleasant sound.

"But this weights heavily on my mind."
should be:
"But this weighs heavily on my mind."

You weigh something; it weighs a lot. The weight of it was a lot.
(The verb, to weigh ) (The noun, weight, has a T)

Author Reply: Thank-you Lyn. I'm glad you're enjoying the story and I'm very glad you pointed out the errors (which are now corrected). I can't drive the image of bells covered in citrus rind from my mind. I guess it serves me right.

Again, thank-you for reviewing and if you find any more errors, please don't hesitate to point them out.

ah.. the plot thickens! very interesting points about humans. I guess dwarves can be perceptive at times, eh? LOL

Author Reply: Thank-you, Daynawayna

Long time no see! How have you been?

Dwarves are really practical. I'm sure a lot of the things humans and elves do don't make any sense to them.

Then again, there are things they just can't be unreasonable about at all.

Thanks again!

I just love the way Froi behaved here! After all, no-one can say he didn't ask. And silence - well, that naturally is taken for assent.

So - unless the thief is terminally stupid - the Palantir wasn't the object of desire in this theft! (Of course, the thief is pretty dim. But the low wattage bulb is focused on one thing!)

Author Reply: Thank-you, Bodkin.

Froi knows a good thing when he sees one. Rest assured he'll come up with some use for the palantir.

The young women of Bree are rather single minded about Inglor. It's a wasted effort as he doesn't understand their motivations.
