Pitfalls of the Palantir  by Haleth 3 Review(s)

*laughing and choking* You would have an asthmatic dragon!

Author Reply: I'm mean but I thought it was funny. Poor old wheezing dragon!

Oh, beautiful. Complete inevitability in that slow-moving irrevocable kind of way. Like a dance - with everyone in exactly the right place!

At least the palantir took out the drake on its way. And is in (probably) the safest place. While Inglor and Haleth are back together - even if they are indulging in the kind of hysterical laughter that ensures they are totally unprepared to fight for their lives.

I wonder how Haleth enjoyed the upside-down view! I suspect rescue was more than welcome.

Author Reply: Thank-you, Bodkin.

A dance? The Minuet of the Flying Palantir? That dance is probably too modern but The Galliard of the Dropping Palantir just doesn't have the same ring to it, though. (Can't you just picture people hopping around, holding one foot and screaming?)

They probably won't be laughing too long. The dwarves and the Dunedain will likely not be in the mood for levity but will likely only make them laugh all the harder.

Thank-you again.

Ah! Such economy of words for such a magnificent catastrophe! I'm still laughing,Haleth, you are a master of understatements! The palantir's fall seen from Haleth's position was priceless. No wonder they spent some time laughing like crazy. And the poor dragon coughing in the middle of his roar...only to be hit right between the eyes by his treasure. Poor one.

I'm sad that this is so close to an end, but it is still as full of amusement as the first chapters, I'm totally delighted by this tale., and wondering what the Dunedain will ahve to say, that the ELf failed at recovering the King's alantir! ;-)

Now, name your price, but you must absoultely find time to write about the adventures of haleth, Inglor and the Cold-drake!

This chapter was the single thing that had been planned since the story began. The entire tale (written in fly by the seat of the pants style) builds up to it.

The tale is close to the end. I'll have the last full chapter up on Thursday.

My price for writing about Haleth, Inglor and the Cold-drake? Can you recommend a good beta reader? Honesty is a must. Tact is optional.

Thanks again!

Haleth
