Wonderful story. So nice to see somebody who appreciates cats. Purrs from my very cuddly (when in the mood) Persian. Author Reply: Thank you. I have more "Cats in Middle Earth" stories, if you feel like reading sometime. Purrs from my rarely cuddly and mainly frisky domestic kitties.

A gentle dealing with death. Enjoyed this one. Author Reply: Thank you. Death doesn't have to be gruesome all the time. :)

OOOOOooooooOOOOOhhhhhhh! How sweet! I love it! See, you dumb cat-haters! Kitties are AWESOME! GO CATS! LOL! :) GREAT story Werecat. and it's so perfectly true, too. :) Author Reply: Thank you, Dayna, for your lovely review. :) And of course it's true: my kitties told it to me. *purr*

Anckyria congratulates the author for a lovely little story that is beautiful and touching in its sadness. Your fics are always delightful reading! Sandie the cat (who is unusually sociable and affectionate for a feline) sends the author and her cat a loud, resonating purrrrrrrrr :) Author Reply: Anckyria and Sandie, thank you very much! My kitties and I purr back! Werecat

Pets for Patients. I don't think they take cats in for long-term patients to stroke, but there are dogs that get to visit hospitals, aren't there? Of course, cats wouldn't go - unless they wanted to. And that would never be when you tried to get them to do it. Author Reply: Hi, Bodkin. Thanks for reading. Actually, inspiration for this came from a RL incident. I've read somewhere that there is a hospice in England, if memory serves well, for terminal cancer patients that has two cats and a dog. They said that the presence of the animals comforted many of the inmates, so, I suppose, my story is not *complete* fantasy. Thanks for reading, Werecat

Another cat drabble! ;) It's sad (but more realistic) that the boy died, but at least the cat was able to sooth him. Cats are very comforting creatures. I'm glad the healer learned the error of his ways! Jay Author Reply: Thanks, Jay! Yes, cats can be very comforting - when they feel like it. Unfortunately, people like the healer who see the errors of their ways when it comes to cats and animals in general belong, for the most part, in fantasy. Irrelevant: I have a new kitty at home! Thanks for reading, Werecat

I absolutely love your stories, Werecat. I was disappointed to find that this one was so short just because I wanted more, but this was lovely. Author Reply: Thanks, Daw, you are very kind. My Muse (mews) works in mysterious ways; this time she commanded short. But I'm working on something longer as well. Thanks for reading, Werecat

Oh my goodness! What a wonderful little story. And so sad. But I'd have to agree with the boy's mother. The purring of a cat is very soothing. They are comforting little creatures. Oh...I have to go scratch my kitty's ears. This was sad, but just lovely. I enjoyed it very much. Author Reply: Thank you, Karen, for your lovely words. Scratch your kitty for me as well. *purr* Werecat
