Childhood Shattered, Innocence Lost  by Baggins Babe 9 Review(s)
AntaneReviewed Chapter: 2 on 10/22/2007
How loving to pick out toys for your baby brother or sister and very thoughtfully to. And what a tragedy to lose all three now, but also having the hope of seeing them again. That is very true.

Who will love you now? Oh, my dearling, do you have any idea how many do?

Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

Oh, you'll have your adventures, dear one. I know you don't like being different, what child does, but Gandalf is right, my lovely Elven hobbit. So neat he saw you and blessed you!

Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

I like your take on this very much. "Who will love me now?" Ah! Such a touching plea! It would break my heart. I do hope you'll continue this. Namarie, God bless,
Galadriel

Oh, you *are* trying to kill me here, aren't you? Lovely story here.

"Esme, can they wear the presents I was going to give them?"

Yep. Dead.

Hewene

Author Reply: I was a wreck by the time I finished this chapter. :-))
Glad you're 'enjoying' it though, and I'm not really trying to kill you. If this wasn't already in the story I would not have had the heart to invent it - poor Frodo goes through far too much anyway.

*sob**sniffle* Poor Frodo...

First his utter grief, then trying to act so brave. You're breaking my heart!

Author Reply: Nearly broke my own writing this chapter! Hated having to put poor little Frodo through that. Hope to have some interesting adventures and encounters for him in future chapters though.

SQUEEEE! Little Frodo is soooo cute! <3
I just want to hug him and cuddle him and love him to pieces. Oh, and can't forget Mr. Tibbles either. *big sigh*

I need more!
*gimme hands*

This is a very good start. There are a few anachronisms, but the style is wonderful. Very engaging, it draws you in right away. Your hobbits are lively and vital, and I love all the little details about their food and relationships. Frodo is an intriguing personality -- childish, yet very thoughtful for such a young age. I can well belive that he'll grow into the adult Frodo we all know and love.

Author Reply: Thank you. I've always imagined hobbits to be great fun and wonderful company, and I really enjoy writing about them. I'm glad you think little Frodo will one day grow into the hobbit we know. That was my main concern.
Not sure where the anachronisms are - I did research the timeline carefully.

Whoa weirdness beyond all weird! (In a good way though)
I was actually starting to write a story with Frodo's parents announcing to him, about a new bay!
DUN DUN DUN *twilight zone music begins to play*
lol
But seriously, I think I shall like this story.
Il sera magnifique, j'a parié !

Well I’m off to rewrite my story!
Lots of Hobbity love!

lol evil me!
I thought I'd write a French comment! lol
Don’t mind me I’m only a total idiot
*walks away whistling "Somewhere over the Rainbow" *

Author Reply: How strange! I've had this first chapter written for almost a year, but as we know there is trauma to come, it is quite difficut to write.
Glad you like it so far.
