| Hahaha! Sneaky Pippin! He knew just what he was doing, not asking directly for snacks, but asking Gandalf if HE was hungry in the trees.... My 2 favorite things: Gandalf trying to be as menacing as possible to stop Pip's questions, and Pippin wearing Gandalf's hat at a jaunty angle as he came down the tree. Eeee! So cute! | Well. I had printed out a whole mess of your stories to take with me on vacation next week. So did I wait to read them? Nooooo! And I'm glad I didn't. This is such a sweet, feel-good fic, and I always love seeing your gruff Gandalf melt into a doting grandfatherly type whenever Pippin is in the least bit of peril. ("Do be careful, my lad!") Thank you for this wonderful little look at a day in the life of the Nine Walkers. It is precious, as are all your stories. :-) Author Reply: You're spoiling me with so many lovely comments today! | Oh, I did enjoy this. I love seeing Gandalf taking care of his hobbits. He does think of them as his hobbits, doesn't he? And takes very good care of them. Even when he's trying to be stern.
