Ooooh, and I think that you are brilliant at finding little places in LOTR to add angsty gapfillers! Wow, I can totally just feel his angst here at having come home not only to find destruction but to find hobbits that are willing to take vengeance when that's not their natural inclination! Good job! Author Reply: I appreciate your review very much Claudia-- thank you so much for liking this. :) I really liked filling in this gap and it seems like many scenes could be written about this. Poor Frodo in coming back to see this destruction. :(

This is a great view into Frodo's mind as changed by the quest. Not many people get it right and this needed to be said about his compassion. I think it is a great part of JRRT's ideals and I was very disappointed it was overlooked in the movies. Thank-You. Author Reply: i'm glad that you find it a good gap-filler and that it's "great view into Frodo's mind"--I think it's most important to see how strong Frodo was to go back to the Shire in the state that it was in to not only ward off Saruman but to even serve as Mayor of the Shire for a while~ The Scouring is a great part of the books and i'm glad that we can see and read about it in the books, if not in the movies~ Thanks so much for your review! =)

Thank you for this glimpse into a little explored time. The way people and places change while we are away can be frightening and very upsetting. We can never truly go back. All we can do is be part of the change and form new relationships. These may be even deeper and better. Author Reply: I"m so glad you enjoyed this and cared enough to write a review. =) This idea was given by a dear friend and ndeed, i feel like it was a good gap-filler. :) I agree that change may give rise to form new relationships... change, for the bad can be quite hard to cope with and especially for Frodo here... it seemed that the Shire couldn't be saved from Saruman's evil. =| Thanks again for your thoughts! =)
