/Larner softly begins singing, "Gil-galad was an Elven king...." A touching, wonderful moment as he faces the greatest Balrog of them all.... And between them he and Elendil bring Sauron down long enough to lose his Ring, allowing some time of peace, at least, before he rises once more. Wonderful thoughts from the legendary Elf.

Ah ! Another good Oropher/Thranduil one. Good. By the way, I liked the insight into Haldir's motives for showing up at Helm's Deep and the irony about his death being what happens there. (In your previous drabble, I mean.) And he didn't get to learn about humans.

Ooh, so sad in its foreshadowing--movie-verse-wise, of course! I really liked it. I wanted to drop by. I'll read the rest later. I've written you down in my book. Well, maybe I'll go sample another.

Yes, one day it shall be Legolas who will be pursued, and whatever siblings were granted to him. And of course a jam-tart was the aim of the child's hunt.... Lovely moment there, and I feel with the servant carrying the dishes! Author Reply: Thanks! Heehee, it's just a shame Oropher probably never got to see it! Though he *could* have, hmmm...

Lovely imagery, with Celegorm so excited he can barely braid his own hair! Thanks for this one! Author Reply: Thanks! I really wanted to do non-angsty Celegorm for a change! Glad you liked it! :)

The grief of such a loss would be everlasting, I think. Yes, they stole all she had of joy and love, leaving in their place loss and an untenable vow that would seek to destroy all she cared for. Lovely. Author Reply: Thank you again for a lovely review. :) I always felt sorry for Nerdanel and I'm glad you enjoyed this look into her pain! (What a strange thing to say!)

It's so hard to watch those one loves, and particularly parents, do that which we know to be wrong. Author Reply: It is and I think Maedhros was the first to realise it in his family's case! Thanks!

OH! You made me cry Lairewen! I haven't read the book since fall 2003 and so the Elrond I hold in my mind is PJ's.... so this is doubly touching! I know the elves were much more emotional than PJ portrayed them, but you kinda forget that. This was very moving to see Lord Elrond as a worried father. I like that kind of stuff. Lovely "over-drabbles" Lairewen. Onward to the rest! Author Reply: How odd, I never got the notification for this review! Thank you, I'm glad you're enjoying the drabbles. I always thought PJ's Elrond was too harsh, so I like giving him a bit more feeling ! :)

Again, excellent imagery. Interesting putting both of those who worked out systems of writing side by side in this manner. Author Reply: Thank you! It's my personal opinion that they must have had some form of contact, as important as both of them were. :)

The grief of the son who believes he cannot live up to a father's expectations. No, it wasn't just Faramir, was it? And when one loses the faith even of one's hound! Author Reply: I think there were many 'Faramirs' over the course of history! Faramir himself though, handled it rather better than Celegorm, not letting it destroy him! Thanks again!
