thats really kinda sad and leaves me feeling that i was a disapointment to my best friend, i just want to cuddle frodo and sniffle with him. that seems so sad. Author Reply: Frodo will bounce back - and stay well away from pushy lasses! He'll be much improved once he can get some distance between him and Posy! ;)

Oh my! Gamgeefest, I loved this one! I like that you wrote it in present tense--it gives it a different flavor than most fics. I love the way you wrote your Frodo--right at that stage of adolescence that he would be most vulnerable to a girl like Posy. I love his shyness, and his consternation at finding himself being "reliable" and "responsible", LOL! I love the way Bilbo and Saradoc came to Frodo's defense; shame on Rory, being such a prude! I hope that Esme will have a few sharp words for Miss Posey when she finds out she's been lied to about the brother! I'd love to be a fly on the wall for *that* conversation! And little Merry was as cute a stinker as could be! Oh, and thank you for doing the age thing at the beginning! I am hoping that will begin to catch on with folks who write about young hobbits--I think it will help in keeping things more canon! Author Reply: Poor Frodo, just when he wouldn't mind being a bit of rascal, he has Bilbo's schooling to keep him in check, lol! He'll be more on guard around the lasses after this, you can be rest assured. Esmeralda will undoubtedly have words for Posy when she gets wind of what happened. Posy may or may not change her ways, but she'll certainly stay away from Frodo from now on, lol. Rory was shocked more than anything else, and understandably flashed-back to earlier times, when he was having to scold Frodo at least once a month for his misbehavior. He'll calm down and see sense with time. Merry, the rascal, pretending he didn't know what all the noise was about. Though really, his discretion (if you can call it that) was for the best. Imagine Frodo's reaction had he known then that Merry was spying! He was embarassed enough when he found out all those years later. I'm glad you enjoyed this so much.

Oh, thank you! I loved this one. I adored Frodo's embarrassment and the fact that Miss Posy was the one making all of the moves. I also loved Bilbo in this. I enjoyed the way that he came to Frodo's defense in spite of how things looked. Oh, and Merry was so cute with his questions. This was worth waiting for! Author Reply: You're most welcome! Frodo is shy in his own right, and he's at the age where he's very uncertain of himself - just the sort of lad a lass like Posy can't wait to get ahold of, lol! If Frodo had been able to hold out and keep his head, he might have been able to get away with a shred of dignity left. Bilbo puts faith in Frodo before anyone else, and he's a bit of wild one himself, even in his old age. And Merry, what can be said about Merry, except he's a delivish little scamp, lol! Teasing Frodo and pretending he doesn't know anything - just the icing needed on Frodo's cake. ;)

hehehe.... Poor Frodo. I love little Merry in the end. Just like a little one! Author Reply: Frodo will be trying very hard to forget this night, indeed. It's a good thing he and Bilbo are leaving in the morning, or else Merry would likely tag along after Frodo and pester him mercilessly!

LOL! But poor Frodo! This was excellent and I just love the ending with Merry jumping in and wanting to know what it is all about. I loved this! Author Reply: Yes, poor Frodo. He's now tramatized for life, lol! Merry's a bit of a scamp himself, teasing Frodo like that. For he knows perfectly well what happened, as he reveals in "A Mid-Year's Walking Trip" when he finally fesses up to spying on Frodo and Posy that night. Thanks for reading, I'm glad you enjoyed it!

What an adorable story. Bilbo really understands everything, doesn't he? :D Author Reply: Not much gets past Bilbo, especially when it comes to Frodo. He would have been able to figure out what happened even if Frodo had not told him, and he knows just how to handle Frodo so he doesn't spend too much time moping about.

"For the second time in less than an hour, he curses Bilbo for turning him into such a responsible tween." *grins* I just love this sentence! If all that happened was only a trick, that girl must have had rich experiences so far ;-) Author Reply: LOL, Frodo loves his older cousin, and is appreciative of everything Bilbo has done for him, but even he sometimes wishes he could still be running about doing as he pleases. Without Bilbo's influence, no matter what Rorimac seems to think on the matter, I shudder to think what else might have happened. Posy takes more than her share of the crop by way of mischief. Frodo never stood a chance against her wiles, lol.

How much can I say that I adore this story? It seems like something that would have happened to Frodo as a lad. Maybe it was even a reason for him not getting married. Good story! The writing style is interesting too. I'm glad I read this :) Author Reply: This certainly gave Frodo a good excuse to be wary of lasses in the future, one of many reasons he has for not settling down. I'm glad you enjoyed the story so much!

Machinations of lasses, followed by a too interested Brandybuck cousin. Ah, Merry, you dear child, you. Author Reply: Merry can be quite merciless in his inquisitiveness, can't he, lol. Now we know why Frodo blushes bright red when Merry mentions this night years later, and why Frodo is always wary is Esmeralda's match-making attempts. Poor Frodo never gets any peace.
