She SHUT the door behind her and locked them out again??!!! Poor Diamond--although with her husband's current fantasies she might NOT be so upset not to go in immediately.

Author Reply: Yep. She did it. I agree; the flushed feeling of embarrassment will be overridden by the flushed feeling of something else...if you get my drift. ;-)

Thanks for reading!

I really enjoyed this story - and how typical for things to go wrong, even after Diamond had managed to get into the house! Dear old Pippin - locks the door and leaves a window open. :-))

Yes, as Andrea says, there must be something about Nobottle. I mention it in several of my stories, particularly 'Birthday Surprises.' 'Nineteen Nights in Nobottle' is the most vulgar and outrageous Shire drinking song!

Good luck to Pip in his investigations of the lacy petticoats!

Author Reply: Ah...the infamous Nobottle! I shall pay a visit to look these up! :-) I actually tossed several village names into the equation, but Nobottle sounded the hobbity-est...if there is such a word. ;-)

Well, it seems that Nobottle is a really interesting place, first that famous song by Baggins Babe, and now an idiom - I'm impressed ;-)

That was very funny! I remember a story where Pippin was scolded by Merry for leaving the window open. This time it proved to be very useful.

Now, let's give Pip some privacy for his further investigations ;-)

Author Reply: LOL, I'll have to go check out Baggins Babe's famous song! I just sort of threw a village name in there, though most any one could suffice. I imagined everyone in the Shire made a jest about Buckland's locksmiths (except Bucklanders, of course!). Being that Merry *is* a Bucklander, he may still scold Pippin for leaving a window open, lol, but he's not here in *this* tale. ;-)

LOL, yes, we'll leave him and Diamond alone for a bit...

Thank you for stopping by to read and for the lovely review!

You know, the exact same thing happened to me, except I had left my backpack outside the house, not kicked someone in the face.
I suspect Pippin shall have a thorough investigation of that petticoat. That lacy petticoat. That tantalizingly lacy petticoat.

Author Reply: Well, lol, I'm sure she didn't mean it...but Pippin sure means to get an eyeful...of another type. ;-)

Thank you for reading!
