Aw, Ann, I just love this! And you are so right... gardeners are very generous people, who also understand that they are entirely dependent upon the gifts of nature... *Sigh* what a perfect way for Faramir and Éowyn to begin their garden in Emyn Arnen! - Barbara Author Reply: Thank you so much for the kind words! A visit to these humble gardens would give Eowyn a very different look at the City, but also allow her fine husband to shine even more as a thoughtful, generous, and well-loved friend and leader.

Very lovely beginning indeed, for the Lord and Lady of Ithilien. Author Reply: Thank you! I was happy to be able to put the time I spend admiring my garden (not actually working in it, just admiring it) to constructive use.

Lush and lovely...can almost smell those flowers and taste those fruits, and the bit about a lord being a mendicant in a garden is striking and poetic. cheers Armariel~~~{~@ Author Reply: Thank you! There's a bit of a backstory with Faramir as a boy wandering freely about the city, making friends along the way. You can find it here, with my stories: the Story Title is "Drabble Day" (it's a drabble collection) and the chapter is entitled, "Friendship".

How beautiful. Gifts of new growth seem particularly appropriate for newlyweds. And they're given with love for both the plants and the recipients. Author Reply: Thank you for your kind words! I was inspired to write this as I considered the phlox, daylilies, and love-in-a-mist I received as gifts when my own garden was new.

WONDERFUL ficlit, Annmarwalk! Very true, too! Gardners LOVE to share their best! :) Author Reply: Oh, thank you! I worried later that I didn't really convey the idea of the gardeners happily sharing (or if it seemed like Faramir ravaging their humble gardens for his own evils purposes, LOL!). So I'm very glad that came across so clearly. Ann
