awww how sweet~ =)

“A similar thing happened with your cousin,” the wizard continued. “The Shadow was driven away not only because of the stars’ presence, but because of your desire to bring comfort to Merry. That you were quite capable of looking after him, wounded as you are, no doubt helped your cousin to see that, perhaps, you would be well again.” Gandalf smiled, his eyes twinkling. “His hope increased, and Merry soon grew determined to be free of the Shadow, allowing the stars to chase it away.”

I like the function of the stars very much--i think i need to read the prequel to understand more. But indeed, they will shine on our precioussss hobbits all the time whenever they're in need.
Because they're all Love. :)

I always adore your Gandalf and Pippin dialogues and this last chapter was wonderful to read.

Wonderful story, Jen--thank you for giving me another nudge in here since i *did* intend to come in here fro while--(since our Narnia meeting ;)

::cheerstoyou::

This is very well written. ::adds to favorite stories:: (and recced this to frodobaggins_88) ;)

=)

Author Reply: I hope you understand the function of the stars now that you've read "Stars and Sniffles"...there is another in this "trilogy" but it doesn't deal with the stars, it just takes place within this 'verse and uses some of the details in this story (like the eagles) in it. :)

Thank you for taking the time to read it, dear...I know I've pestered you about it LOL. Your reviews are lovely and I really do appreciate them - all of them! - and thank you also for reccing it. It really means a lot. But most of all I'm glad you enjoyed it. *hugs*

And i love this little bit:

“I’m sorry,” Merry repeated, angrily wiping away his tears. “You should be resting and trying to get well again, and not fussing over me.”

“How can I rest when I’m worried about you?” Pippin asked simply. Merry smiled a little at that, and dropped a kiss on his cousin’s forehead.

So true. oh so Love. :) Yes indeed, how can Pippin rest with such a horrific nightmare that was so vivid and scared Pippin?

awwwww hobbitses~~! ::hugsbothPippinand Merry::

Author Reply: This is why both of them need to be happy and healthy, or else the other will be miserable! *squishes into the group hug* :)

I love Merry's nightmare... that was so unexpected since... well i thought there would be more Pippin healing because i know Pippin is so in need of more care. awww Pippin!

But yeah, Merry angst is one of my faves and the nightmare--ooo creepy indeed!!! I so love it.

So cool for Pippin's stars to help Merry. :)

Slowly, he grew confident that Pippin would recover, and Frodo and Sam as well, and that they would return home to the Shire at last, whole and healthy and together.

I wish all were whole and healthy ....but that's a nice event to imagine. I so wish Frodo would've stayed healthy and whole but there are some wounds that go too deep. :(

but yes, this chapter,..... definitely warrants rereading... i just love the nightmare so very much. >=)

Author Reply: Merry's nightmare came from a bunny Marigold sent me. It was so much fun to write another dream-state, and a much creepier one than Pippin's in chapter two. The Black Breath is definitely something interesting to explore.

Yes Pippin is in need of comfort and so is Merry. It must have been so difficult for Merry to be the only conscious hobbit and trying to deal with that all the while he is healing from his own injuries. As you said, I wish all the hobbits were whole all the time.

Thank you for reading!

ooo yummy "c" and i love fevers. >=)
poor Pippin! i'm just glad everyone is there to help him. :)

And i'm glad for the detail with no smoking --indeed that will not help breathing or healing of his ribs...

=) I liked this chapter a lot.

Author Reply: You love fevers? LOL! I'll try to remember that :D

I thought the "no smoking" bit was something integral to Pippin's recovery and yet I couldn't remember seeing it in any Cormallen fics that I'd read. So I had to include it here - and I'm glad you liked it too :)

I love all these reviews you're leaving me! Thanks :D

awww Merry comes! the whole dialogue with Gandalf was written so well... i love Merry angst and i love the fact that Pippin awoke and Merry and Gandalf are there for him.

Sighing a little in disappointment when he found nothing, Merry opened Pippin’s hand a little to steal a glimpse at the stars inside. They gleamed vibrantly in the dim tent, their light casting into shadow the lines of care on Merry’s face, his worry making him seem much older than his years.
I really like these sentences... =) I think i was always an unconscious Merry fan. :P

and PIppin waking--awww! more "c" to come i'm sure. :)

Author Reply: Thank you, dear! Glad you liked the Merry angst (unconscious Merry fan, eh? *grin*) and Pippin waking. I loved writing dialogue between Merry and Gandalf because so often I write Pippin and Gandalf. Gandalf is a great mentor to all hobbits :D

awww what a beautiful chapter--i love the image of Pippin chasing the stars and it's such wonderful description. :)
And i like the ending sentence because it really makes me feel like reading more. :)

Author Reply: It was fun writing a dream state and thanks so much for liking the descriiptions here. It was fun to show Pippin and the stars interact :)

I love the image of the eagles bringing the hobbits to Ithilien. I love the h/c for Pippin here and love the dialogue that Aragorn adn Gandalf have--
"Tiny wanderer" --awww! Pippin!
I will read more as soon as i can. I can't wait for more h/c and to see how Pippin comes back to consciousness.
Poor Pippin!

::goes to huggle him but sees that you have a firm grasp already of him:: :P ;)

Author Reply: Thank you, dear! I'm soo happy you're reading this and that you like it (so far)! :D
I love writing Gandalf and Pippin. One of the best friendships in LOTR :)
You can hug Pippin - but only for a bit and very gently! The poor darling is very hurt right now!
