I'm going all the way back to the beginning to read through your stories, and this one was very compelling. The scene between Faramir and Aragorn in Tolkien is so gripping, especially the way Faramir instinctively recognizes Aragorn as his King. You've captured this nicely in your expanded view of the proceedings. Very good story. Author Reply: Many thanks for your much appreciated review.i'm delighted you are trying my early stories, though I hope I've improved since I wrote them! This was the story that gained me posting rights here.

So, here goes: I meant to read A Time To Reap, then I realized I was supposed to read Web of Treason first, started that and found I had to go back even further and have now eventually decided to read your stories in the order you suggest. This story gives a good picture of just how strenuous this experience was for Aragorn and just how traumatized Faramir was. It also sets the scene nicely for their relationship to develop. It is noticable that this is one of your early stories - there were a few awkward phrases that wouldn't be found in your present work. You started out ell, but you've become much better since! Author Reply: Many thanks for your much appreciated review. It was a lovely surprise to find your comments here today.I'm pleased you feel I have improved.Raksha deserves a good deal of credit for that!I do intend to eventually try to polish these early stories a little.

Faramir has such honesty. It just shines - and he is humble enough not to spend a lot of time thinking about how everyone else owes him respect. His immediate recognition and acceptance of Aragorn must have made the restoration of the kingship about seven zillion percent more likely to happen smoothly. In fact, you could call him Faramir the Kingmaker - though he wouldn't recognise that. Good to see how they bond in friendship right from the beginning - even if they don't entirely know yet how important they will be to each other. Author Reply: I think that is the main difference between Faramir and his father, his humility.I think it sometimes gets overlooked that without Faramir's support,it would have been very hard,if not almost impossible for ARagorn to become King.I wanted to show how their recognised each other as kindred spirits. Many thanks for your much appreciated review.

Wow, Linda! That was amazing! I just love h/c stories, and Aragorn/Faramir stories, so this was a Double Blessing! I love how you describe Aragorn's desire to heal once he made the connection with Faramir - very emotional and deeply touching. Faramir will have a "father's" love no matter what. Thank you so much for sharing with us! Author Reply: Thank you so much for your much appreciated review.I'm always thrilled to discover a new reader !I love writing Aragorn and Faramir h/c and this is the first in what seems to be an ever growing series of stories about them and their adventures or more usually misadventures,so I should say !

He felt protective towards this young man. If he had he been allowed to marry when he wished, he could easily have a son of his age by now and any child of his and Arwen’s would have raven hair and grey eyes like Faramir. As the young Steward had made it clear he accepted him as King, maybe soon he would be blessed with a son of his own. How lovely this is. Another wonderful story. Author Reply: Thank you so much, this is a real compliment from such a gifted writer as you !

The young Hobbit’s warmth heartened him and somewhat restored his flagging energy. What a sweet image. And this is marvelous: He could sense now that here was a man of quality, a man that Gondor needed and that he would need too if he ever became King. He would value this man’s friendship and desired the opportunity to try and make up to him for all he had lost or been denied. And this life-and-death struggle truly showed Aragorn's quality, as well. Author Reply: Many thanks for your much appreciated review.I have a soft spot for this story I wrote a while ago and thought I'd try to polish it.

Lovely fic! I love the way you described Aragorn's doubts if Faramir will acknowlege his claim to the throne of Gondor. And it makes me angry to think about Denethor. He has done his youngest son a great injustice. It is amazing how well Faramir turned out in spite of the way his father treated him for so long. It is sad to see his self-doubts. I would like to see a sequel about their first real conversation later and their thoughts and feelings then. Well done! Author Reply: Thank you so much for your kind and much appreciated review. It amazes me too how well Faramir turned out !I do have a sequel posted called "Facing the Darkness" in which Aragorn talks to Faramir

This is a beautiful job! I love the way you show all the doubts and fears Aragorn must have had as he tried to save the son of the Steward, and also that it was a long and weary struggle until Bergil found the athelas. Very well done! Author Reply: Thank you so much.I am delighted that you have enjoyed my story. This is my favourite chapter in the book.
