This chapter is quite the funniest thing I have read in a very long time!

Poor Merry! I've never had a migraine headache, I'm thankful to say, but I'm told they are horrible to endure. Thank goodness Pippin was there to keep an eye on him! Frodo must have gotten pretty concerned himself when he learned what was going on. Pippin did a good job of telling the story of that previous day. BTW, is the flashback sequence of this chapter set on the day that Frodo first gets up, or on the day of the Council? I'm kind of having a hard time determining just when the events of that flashback take place in Rivdendell. I'm assuming that Merry is well enough to attend the feast if it's set on the day that Frodo first awakens, or else well enough to talk over things with the other hobbits later in the day, if it's on the day of the Council. (If I'm wrong on both counts, by all means, enlighten me! =))

I love the way in which you have wrapped up this round robin! Something tells me this is not the last tale that Pippin will be told before they return to the Shire. =) Author Reply: Thank you! My hobbits love storytelling. (And so, for that matter, do I.)

Ha! I enjoyed this story as much as Pippin did. ~Eruherdiriel Author Reply: Larner has a wonderful gift for spinning a tale, indeed. Thanks for stopping by and leaving a good word.

Beautiful take on the story. Best part is Aragorn splitting his pants. Thanks Author Reply: I know, I laughed out loud at that juncture (had been chuckling up to that point). Larner is a wonderful storyteller. Thanks!

A Yule dwarf? LOL I'd love to see Aragorn decked out as one. Author Reply: I know, can you imagine? I love that it was fated, from the moment he came to the village, because of his height! Larner spins a great tale. Thanks!

Lindelea, thank you for posting this on your birthday! I hope you're having a nice day. This is a delightful story to tell Pippin, and a wonderful ending to this series. Picturing the "Yule Dwarf" has me grinning. Author Reply: You're welcome! I did have a nice day, at that, though it was very busy with mundane matters, and no cake this year! (Nobody had time to make one, not even myself.) But my beloved took me out to lunch, and that was a comedy of errors, and special in itself. I was so glad to have this delightful tale from Larner to post on my birthday. I was halfway through writing a mathom (and I'm still halfway through, having been thoroughly derailed these past weeks), and despaired of finishing, and then I remembered she'd sent me this gem during the holidays, when it was supposed to be posted (being a holiday tale and all that), except that I got busy... Anyhow, I'm sorry to have the Tale come to an end, but have enjoyed revisiting all the chapters when I returned to add this one. Thanks for being the first to contribute, and set things going so nicely.

Oh, how wonderful! And if you can think of someone else who needs to tell poor Pippin a tale, I'd be willing to do one! Author Reply: Thank you for your wonderful contribution! Wraps things up very nicely indeed.

This is such a delightful story. I always love it when one of the Big Folk is gentle, informal, and banter-y with the hobbits. *beams* Author Reply: From Dreamflower: I'm glad you enjoyed it, too. This was such a fun project to take part in!
