you are a very talented writer and blend sorrow and joy into believability.

Lovely story. "And may no new grief divide us" - ominous words, but I hope they prove true, this time! I hope his love will help her get over her guilt-by-association. She at least was no Kinslayer! And good catch with Elrond calling Eãrendil his "sire"! I had not noticed that before....

Such a sweet tale you wrote, bringing to full circle the cycle of Maglor and his fostering of the twins, Elrond and Elros, with his daughter wedding one of Elrond’s twin sons. That she would try to keep her identity a secret, and he finding it out, but allowing her the privacy she obviously desired, was well done indeed. In particular I loved the cloth with both their House emblems, showing her he was not unaware of her heritage and the fact that Maglor still watched over his ‘adopted kin’.

A gentle, lovely tale.

Author Reply: The cloth was my husband's idea (he's a romantic, too:-) ).

I started this story with just the title in mind: who would she be and why would someone call her the minstrel's beautiful daughter and not any other title? I would like to think that Maglor "repented and renewed" himself as a course of healing after so many bad choices in his life, if you will. I thought this was a nice way to bring it about. I also always thought it odd that Elrond in the Coucil of Elrond chapter of Fellowship described Earendil as his "sire" and not his father. After learning that Elrond was fostered by Maglor, I realised who Elrond must have considered his "ada".

I had fun writing this story.

Thank you for reading and reviewing!

Liniel and Elladan are going to have munchkins? Oh no! Perhaps they are cursed! Such a lovely story. And a Maglor with a wife and daughter - I am glad he has some happiness to counter his endless sorrow and guilt. I hope he makes it back to Valinor in time - to see the munchkins.

Author Reply: Yes, they're going to have munchkins! wee ones, young'uns - munchkins and Dorothy and Toto may drop by later following the yellow brick road to the Grey Havens.

I'm glad you enjoyed the story. I think Maglor should make it back in time to see his grand-young'uns or perhaps one or two will be born on this side of the pond so he'll get to see them as babes.

Thanks for reading and reviewing! I enjoy your work very much and am flattered that you saw fit to review one of my fics.

This is the first fanfic story I've had time to read in a long time (after being led to it by Jay), and it is absolutely wonderful! I'm really glad I read it! And it is such a unique idea! Thanks for drawing me back into the fanfic world!

Author Reply: Thank you so very much! I'm flattered that you jumped back into fanfic with my little tale. I'm glad you enjoyed it!

I'm sorry this reply is so late. Life is very difficult right now.

I read this and thought I had reviewed it, but when I looked back, I realized I had not. Again, you have written a lovely piece. I like the image of the twins coming to visit the sea on the anniversary of Elrond's departure and I love the idea of Maglor still there and singing to them. The conception of Maglor's daughter is a story that deserves to be told in itself, but I loved the ending here--I am certain Elrond's sons would react with compassion to Maglor's descendents (sp?, sorry) not just because Maglor did foster Elrond but simply because they have seen too much in the world to hold on to hate. This was a very sweet tale. Great job.

Author Reply: Thank you very much for your comments! It had not occurred to me to write about how Maglor meets his wife. I'll have to do that when life settles down a little, well when it settles down a lot.

Thanks so much for reading and reviewing!

Wow. What a beautiful story! It seems sad that Maglor never realised that Elrond regarded him with affection, though - so much sadness could have been avoided if he'd told Liniel the whole story.

A lovely tale, and thank you for the happy ending. I wonder where they will live, though?

Jay

Author Reply: Thank you for the compliment! You're welcome for the happy ending. I don't have a clue where they'd end up living.

I do believe that Maglor will ultimately be forgiven and allowed to return to Valinor, but I think that Liniel and Elladan and all their little munchkins will have sailed long before then.

Thank you for reading and reviewing. I am honored to have soemone whose work I greatly admire reading and reviewing my work.
