What a heartwarming and amazing story.

My favourite lines

“"Always love him, Sam. He needs that more than anything.”

“You don’t have to tell me that, sir. I can’t imagine doing anything else.”

And

“I hope I can be your friend, too.”
Frodo laughed gently. “I think it’s a little too late to hope for that, Sam. You already are my friend.”
Sam is so cute, isn’t he adorable? And Frodo, poor sick Frodo – it feels wonderful to know Sam around. And Bilbo. And the Gamgee’s…
It’s like always – I feel like sitting in the corner watching them, listening to them. Very touching, Antane.
Thank you ever so much.

Love,
Julchen

Author Reply: You're welcome! Thank *you*. :) So glad you enjoyed! Yes, Sam is adorable and already taking care of his dear as he would from then on until death. No wonder Frodo considered himself the luckiest hobbit. :)

Yes, I know I've already read and reviewed this. But honestly, Antane, who could read and *not* leave a review? :-) I just love it! Let's see, my favourite parts: Sam talking of getting Frodo down for a nap-so cute!, the lively, friendly conversation, Sam so quickly taking to Frodo and acting as his "pillow"-such a Sam-like thing to do, and the foreshadowing near the end-"I'm glad you're with me." Excellent, excellent, my dear! And this was just the boost of inspiration I needed to finish the next chapter of TLD. It's going to be a very special one, and I want it to be perfect. Hannon le, mellon nin! Namarie, and God bless!

What a darling take on the first meeting between Frodo and Sam. I especially like that you keep to the book version of the ages, and remember that hobbits are younger for their years than humans. And I love the way you compare Sam and Merry--for I have always thought that Sam and Merry had a good deal in common in their personalities.

Very well done!

Oh, Antane! I can't believe I haven't read your work until today, and now I'm devouring it! I just love this! It's so sweet and loving and...delightful! Sam as such a young child is a wonderful character, and just what Frodo needed then. Please, please, please write more!!!! I think you should try continuing this story with more stories of Frodo and Sam's early adventures, and then maybe something about Sam and Rosie helping Frodo through one of his anual illnesses. Feel up to it? :-) I think you'd do wonderfully at something like that. I'm trying with my "The Last Days" now, but I don't feel I'm making much headway. But I'm really straying from the point. I just love, love, love this sweet story and it's just what I needed right now! Thanks so much! Namarie, mellon!
God bless,
Galadriel

Author Reply: Wow, what a review - thank you!! I have actually written a lot more that I am slowly putting on here. I am very new to Arda and have only been writing LOTR fanfic for a little over a year (I was a Star Wars addict before I graduated to LOTR) so that's why you haven't read me before but thank you so much for all your encouragement - it is very much appreciated! :) As to helping Frodo through an anniversary illness, I am most definitely up to it as I have already done it but that's part of a story that is huge and I mean huge (I think it's going to top 300 pages!!!) and I'm not ready to post that yet. As to other early adventures, Worth Fighting For mentions one and maybe it will help tide you over until the big one is ready. It's one of my favorite stories as it's Sam being his 'love incarnate' self, taking care of his beloved master post-Quest, not during an illness, but just every day looking after which is why Frodo thought he was the luckiest hobbit around.

Thanks again for all your wonderful words!

Namarie,
God bless,
Antane :)

What a lovely, gentle, heartwarming story! I especially love these lines:

"My mum says I’m always where I need to be.”

And...

"Always love him, Sam. He needs that more than anything.”

“You don’t have to tell me that, sir. I can’t imagine doing anything else.”

Oh my, I enjoyed this so much. Thank you.

Author Reply: Thank *you*, shirebound for your lovely review. You are one of my favorite authors so this means a lot!

A very sweet meeting between Iorhael and Panthael. Found myself loving little Sam insisting Frodo stay in bed like that. Already Frodo's manager while still yet a child himself.
