Oh, Antane!! You got me all choked up on that one. I can feel with every one of the Hobbit's hearts. Merry's was especially good. A wonderful, bitter-sweet ending. How do envoke so much emotion from the reader? That is a mark of a remarkable author, being able to get the readers to feel with the characters. ON all the stories of yours I've read so far I have felt that way. Keep on writing!! GOd Bless, Frodo Baggins

Bittersweet but beautiful. I'm glad that Gandalf told Merry and Pippin. It would have been awful if they hadn't had the chance to say namarie. But poor Merry! (But I also keep hearing the bit in the cast commentry where he complains because he can't cry on screen without his face all scrunching up. Thank you for putting that into context! Brilliantly!) Author Reply: Thank you, harrowcat! I'm glad Gandalf told them too - for their sake and Frodo's and Sam's. I know Frodo would have wanted to spare them the pain of goodbye, but he would have regretted it later so it's good they all had the chance. Namarie, God bless, Antane :}

Now you have me crying. The oldest of the three relationships--so much shared that can't truly be shared with others. Author Reply: Larner, wow - to have moved you to tears. 'tis the dream of every writer I would think. Thank you! It's certainly the saddest of the stories. I will have to check out that other story you recommended. Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

A sad goodbye, but needed. Look up "Changed" by Chip of Dale (or Tom Fairbairn--he goes by both names) on FFN--you will find another whose work you will appreciate.
