GW, as always, this story is another in a long series of fantastic tales! You are an awesome writer and I admire your stories very much. They are always entertaining and creative, filled with humor and very cleverly crafted. I always look forward to more from you!

wonderful! Ah, dear Peregrin, always getting in too deep for all the right reasons... *giggle*
:)))

Perfect! They weren't angry at him for stealing the pony. They were angry because Pippin was going to do somethings stupid and get himself hurt or killed and they love him too much to even think of such a thing. This isn't the first time this kind of thing has happened in your stories. I like the humor, and I love how much personality Shadowfax has. I also like the use of all the Fellowship members. Thanks for the good story!

Author Reply: Thank you for that lovely review! I am so glad to hear that you enjoyed the rest of the Fellowship members because I don't write many stories that involve them and I was a bit nervous about how they would seem in this story. Thanks for reading!

This is so hilarious, GW!!!!

Yet, I do feel sorry for my dear, though ofttimes foolish, kinshobbit. To have his shame permanatly displayed on an inn's sign . . .

though, I do love the name "The Horse and Hobbit Tavern" LOL

This is just chock full of your usual skill and witt. Well Done :) :)

Author Reply: Thank you. This was originally written and posted to the web site and I moved it over here because with the exception of Faramir's little story, the rest is G rated in my opinion. I try not to post anything too far off the mark on this site. I figure all the free ale and attention out-weighed the embarrassment in the end for Pippin. After all, what Hobbit wouldn't want a pub named after him? LOL Thanks for the review!

This was wonderful! :D Clever Shadowfax! I felt sorry for Pip at first but then I just had to laugh, lol. Thank you for a lovely story!

Author Reply: Glad you enjoyed it and thank you for reviewing! Shadowfax is a very clever horse indeed!

Yet another example of your consistently entertaining and enjoyable story-telling. I just love the characterisation of Shadowfax. He has a wisdom to match that of the White Wizard - and his treatment of Pippin is just so . . . parental.

But apparently even humiliation can be forgiven in exchange for free beer! That landlord deserves to do well - his marketing and public relations skills are very well advanced.

Such an enjoyable story.

Author Reply: My little Pub owner knew a good thing when he saw it. LOL

As Lord of all Horses and a close personal friend of Gandalf, I figured that Shadowfax simply had to be a very intelligent horse.

I also am quite sure that a great deal can be forgiven by a hobbit as long as free beer is involved. Thank you for reading and for the lovely review. You are so sweet!

“I did,” Faramir grinned. “With most of the troops looking on, I fell off of Boromir’s horse, which I had insisted upon riding, and landed, face down in, well, in some rather unpleasant business.”

OH, YUCK!!! LOL, I know someone that this happened to--and ended up breaking some ribs. Actually, I shouldn't laugh, but after her wounds healed, even she laughed at that part. And no--it wasn't me!

Oh, gosh, that was too funny! Imagining Pippin dangling from the teeth of Shadowfax was hilarious. What a twist in the plot! I thought for sure Pippin had indeed offended Shadowfax, or the Rohirrim in some fashion, but you surprised me with Shadowfax (and Merry) caring that Pippin wouldn't kill himself while racing upon an unfamiliar pony. Brilliant! Thanks for sharing yet another of your most lovely tales. :-)

Author Reply: I love the way you use the word 'brilliant' in your reviews! Makes me so happy! See, I'm smiling right now.
Your poor friend! I'm glad that she healed from her fall. With Faramir it was simply an embarrassment and a dreadful smell. Yuck!
Glad you enjoyed the twist. I just had to let Legolas be wrong about something. I figured that after spending all of that time in Minas Tirith and on the way to Minas Tirith with Pippin, that Shadowfax might be a bit protective of him. I know that Gandalf sends Pippin to check on Shadowfax at the stables in the book and so I decided that Shadowfax might just have grown fond of him. LOL
Thanks for reading!

Oh, goodie! Another lovely tale! I wish I was a faster reader, then I'd get to your website more often...

Author Reply: LOL Not much over there that isn't here really. I am gradually moving things over so I will have back-up so the stories will, for the most part, wind up here. Thanks for reviewing this prologue!

How adorable!

Merry let Pippin’s ear go and glared at him. “I suspect that he was trying to keep you in one piece. Why do you think he brought you to me?”

“Because it was your pony?” Pippin guessed, but without too much conviction.

“No,” Merry said, putting an arm about Pippin’ s shoulders and moving him toward the door of the house. “Because you are my cousin and he knew I’d look out for you. The last time I took my eyes off of you, you ended up underneath a Troll.”

Thank goodness Merry was clever enough to figure out Shadowfax's motives. What a fun story!

Author Reply: Thank you! I figured that with Gandalf as translator, Merry might be able to sort it all out. Now if Gandalf had been out shopping then Pippin might have been in serious trouble for a while. LOL

*loud horse laugh* Whoooaaaa!!! Good one!! hehehe poor old Pip! Glad he's getting free drinks out of it at least.....ROFL!

Author Reply: Free drinks will do a great deal to make a hobbit forget his embarrassment. LOL Thanks for reading and for laughing too!
