One Heart Protecting Another  by Antane 2 Review(s)
harrowcatReviewed Chapter: 49 on 11/25/2005
I am reading this on the day after Thanksgiving but before breakfast so I am sure it still counts as being yesterday! I enjoyed the feast and felt that I would have loved to be there. Poor Frodo, still not able to enjoy his food - such a terrible trial for a hobbit. Laughed out loud at the stolen dessert.

(Just two little jarring notes in this chapter for me Antane. I hope you don't mind me commenting on them. Isn't Merry a Knight of the Mark by this time and no longer a Squire? Both were dressed in their official military outfits. This felt just too modern for me and the more simple- uniforms would do just as well. But that is just my own opinion so please don't mind me.)

Author Reply: My dear harrowcat, I didn't like that sentence either but for some reason my brain couldn't think of another word but you're right of course about uniforms being better and that is how it know reads. Glad you enjoyed the stolen dessert - it seemed a very Merry-Pippin thing to do! :)

Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

Queen GaladrielReviewed Chapter: 49 on 11/25/2005
Ooooo! Three chapters! Three whole chapters! A Thanksgiving feast, indeed! :-) I just love how Sam always knows what Frodo needs sometimes before even he does and always does or gives it without a word. That's just so beautiful. But Frodo must, must recover from this state of...what? It goes beyond melancholy or hopelessness, or even the depths of despair. That bit about his hands and feeling lost just broke my heart, but I love Sam's, "Then hold onto me and let me lead you out." Great stuff! Namarie, and God bless,
Galadriel

Author Reply: Dearest, hannon le! I don't think Frodo is in despair, at least not yet, definitely headed in that direction with his depression, but perhaps with his Sam's TLC, he won't get there, but we'll see. Those parts you mentioned are some of my favorites too, so glad you liked them! (Did you get my e-mails on "Through the Flames"? I haven't heard from you but maybe you've just been busy.)

Namarie, God bless, Love ya, Antane :)
