Pearl's Pearls  by Pearl Took 4 Review(s)
ArmarielReviewed Chapter: 7 on 5/28/2006
Oh my goodness...do the words "God bless us every one!" ever come to mind? Well I must admit the title is a little awkward but the tale itself doesn't disappoint a bit...wonderful as always! Curious to see what the next one will bring......

I've always loved the word "misanthropic" so couldn't resist using it here. I'm glad the tale was a good one :)

I'll bet all those calming adults were worried silly by the time Paladin and Pearl actually did turn up. But they will be so proud of them - even Pippin understood the absence of presents. He's a little monkey, but as kind-hearted as they come.

And I suspect that the poor families might find that certain gentlehobbits make an effort after Yule to see that they start the New Year in a better way than they ended the Old.

I love the closeness and affection between Pippin and his dad, too.

Author Reply: Aw, thank you so much Bodkin :) Yes I like keeping in mind that Saradoc becomes "Scattergold" and I've always felt the family of Paladin Took would be genreous as the Pippin of the Quest is a caring, fairly unspoilt young hobbit.

Thank You!

O yes, I saw this at the challenge, and sneaked a bit of time to read it again.

I love this story! I love Paladin setting aside his own wants to help others, and Pearl jumping in; I love the children determining not to open their gifts until the family is all together again; the anxious wait (though it is nice to be amongst those who know that the missing are all right!); the joyous reunion.

MEWD!

Author Reply: Aw, thank you, Lin!! Another MEWD!! Thank you :)

Pippin shows a great deal of care for others and love of kin in LOTR, I figured he had to learn it somewhere :)
