Pearl's Pearls  by Pearl Took 10 Review(s)

Oh, how sweet! I love your Elanor! And more faeries! *bounces* But it was also very sad, with Diamond dying. I liked how you showed how much Pippin loved her.
God bless,
Ellie

Author Reply: Thank you once again, Ellie :) My Pippin and Diamond are very much in love. I'm glad you like Culassisul and Galadriel putting in an appearance :)

I love it that Elanor has a touch of the magic that surrounds Pippin and his distant ancestress! I wonder if any of her children have inherited it - and whether it will persist, like Pippin's faerie blood.

Good thing that Diamond returned to tell her beloved that it was all right for him to grieve and laugh and continue to live until his time came - loyalty is one of Pippin's best qualities, but it could tie him in knots here!

Oh my, Pearl! I absolutely loved this, though I have tears in my eyes. I love your "Falcon" stories, though apparently I've missed some of your Elanor stories. Can you tell me in which ones she comforts Frodo, Merry and Sam?

Oh, and your husband sounds delightful! Isn't it wonderful to have hubbies who love sweet, beautiful stories? Mine isn't into fanfiction, but he will happily go see what most consider "chick-flick" movies with me, and will often be seen wiping his eyes at the emotional parts. (He's not ashamed as long as I don't make a big deal about it - which is hard because my daughter and I just love that about him and think it's so adorable!)

Author Reply: There are few things as adorable as a guy who gets emotional :) My husband is more so as we get older, though he's always enjoyed "chick flicks". My son has always been emotional over stories, movies etc.

I have two stories where Elanor, with her connection to the White Lady, brings comfort. One is "In the Dark Before Dawn" the other is "Elanor's Gift". In the first she is still a little lass, in the second she is twenty and it is specifically referred to in this story.

Thank you for reading, responding and for asking after the other stories, AspenJules :) I'm so glad you ejoyed this tale!

Such a beautiful...wonderful story. I do love your Elanor and her "sixth sense" that seems to be entwined with the Lady's. You already must know that I love your Pippin, too!

That is so like Pippin to be brave and strong for those around him. I am glad that he got one last glimpse of the love of his life, to dance with her, because I know what that dance means to them. :-) Very beautiful tale indeed!

Author Reply: Sorry, RL slowing down responses.

Thank you, m'dear Pippinfan :) Yes, I know you love my Pippin *blushing*

I should have done a bit more with the dance and some reminiscing with Elanor for those who haven't read "Peregrin and Diamond". I have a bad tendancy to forget such things.

I'm so glad you enjoyed the story :)

Beautiful! Absolutely beautiful, Pearl. I felt a little like Elanor, waiting to see when the dam would burst. And then to have it actually be such a sweet, loving moment--that was amazing

Thanks so much for such a loving look at the end of a life and the beloved who must keep living.

Wow! What else can I say?

Thanks.

Garnet Took.

Author Reply: You are most welcome, GT :-) I've always felt hobbits would be good at getting on with living. My hubby loves sweet, loving moments.

Thank you for reading and your kind words!

Beautiful! I always read stories with character death a bit hesitantly but this had such joy for continuing life in it and I adored Elanor. More of your wonderful fairie too! Adored it!

Author Reply: Thank you so very much, GW :-) I'm happy you enjoyed Elanor, faerie and all. Life does go on, as it truly should. Diamond wouldn't want us to mourn over much.

Your husband ordered you to write this, did he? How wonderful! And an Elf and a Faerie between them were able to help Diamond effect her own release, and that of Pippin from his overwhelming grief.

And Elanor is a gift to all four....

Beautiful.

Author Reply: Thank you, Larner :-)

My husband's favorite of my stories is "Peregrin and Diamond". He always liked little Elanor in that, and again in a few of my other stories where she has helped Pippin, Sam and Merry. He suggested that I have her somehow helping Pippin when Diamond passed away.

As for Galadriel and Elanor . . . "[Elanor] became known as 'the Fair' because of her beauty; many said that she looked more like an elf-maid than a hobbit. she had golden hair . . ." I just figured it was something to do with all that Elven soil that Sam had spread all over the Shire. He had to have breathed some of it in ;-)

“I await you there, where there is no waiting. I long for you there, where there is no longing. I love you there, where all is loving.”

Oh Pearl! Just when I think your writing can't get any more stunningly beautiful, you completely outshine even yourself. This is such a gem.

*weepy, but happy-weepy*

Author Reply: Thank you so much dear shirebound :-)

My hubby hasn't heard the story yet, I was waiting to get some reviews so I would know if I had "done him proud". I'm weepy to be greeted by such a generous first response. Thank you.
